Already have.
Please post how you expect to get Thomas then.
The Spurs are not making a move that will put them over the cap. They've been very careful all year in doing that, and there's no indicator whatsoever that points to them doing otherwise.
My gut feeling is that we're not going to make a move, and I feel pretty confident about our current roster.
You shouldn't have posted those. Now Ghost will have to visit the men's room.
Too expensive -IMO, especially for a bench player. I don't see Pop doing this. But if this does miraculously happen what whould that do to the 2010 plan? Disminish it? Or is there more wheeling and dealing left to be done?
Seattle won't do the Spurs any favors for Thomas.
You guys are courageous.
So you want to stand pat and hope for the best, huh?
Stunning.
Worked last year...
So the Spurs should gut their supporting cast and send out the likes of Finley and Horry for a 30 game rental of Kurt Thomas and Szczerbiak's $13 million salary? Damn, you are mental, though not as much as Ron.
So you are for a Szczerbiak/Thomas trade.
No.
I never advocated that.
I just feel that the Sonics will want more than Barry, Elson and a pick.
Our rivals all got better, son.
And we're older and more injured.
You counting on the Mavs losing first round and Amare and Diaw getting suspended again, too?
See, I see it differently.
Our rivals got better on paper only, so far.
- Gasol never won a game in the playoffs, plus he's softer than a Kleenex.
- The Suns needed defense, gave up their 2nd scorer and number 1 rebounder and got Shaq? Plus they're still coached by D'Antoni. Enough said.
- Dallas gave up Harris and Diop, the two guys that really gave us trouble for a 35 year old Kidd, that is frequently outplayed by Parker. Plus I think they're losing confidence in AJ with every game.
As far as age, yeah, we're a year older, but the Big 3 are still in their prime. The injury part doesn't bother me as much seeing how Pop has taken care of regulating the minutes, and the injuries that happened could have happened to anybody (Like Kobe now has pretty much the same injury Manu had).
Come playoff time, all I hope for is that Tony is recovered and everyone else stays healthy. If we have that, I think we have a great chance to repeat.
Maybe during the off-season we can retool the team a bit, but I don't see the necessity to insert a cancer in the locker room (Artest) or to bust out the salary cap for a backup center (Thomas)
A matter of opinion, I guess.
I'd like to get better on paper without giving up anyone who is contributing right now:
Barry
Elson
1st round pick
So the Spurs are playing for the paper championship? Well, Sacto's got a couple of those.
