He won't play for the Suns you can count on that.
Oh Man, Barry would be perfect in the Suns system...he has also been a Suns killer the past couple seasons![]()
He won't play for the Suns you can count on that.
Erin Barry isn't hoping Barry is out for the season...Whottt is.
Why not the Lakers for Brent? Brent's hometown team. He seems like the kind of vet Phil would like. He's got the experience/rings. Hopefully this will not come back to bite the Spurs. I always thought that Brent was very underrated by Spurs fans -- I mean wanting that JR Smith guy for Brent, come on.
Why do Spurs fans think Barry wouldn't go to the Suns?? Out of some sort of loyalty to the Spurs...who just traded him?
I believe there that had to be a wink exchanged by both parties. Wishful thinking...maybe??
Barry will be sought after because he's a pro that is one of the best shooters and passers in the NBA...
I can guarantee you either the Lakers or Suns will sign him if he becomes available....
He tore the Lakers up when he was in Seattle...the Shaq Kobe Phil Lakers. Neither Phil nor D'antoni will double off him...as has been apparent to anyone that has watched a Spurs game in Barry's career.
He's smart, he's clutch and makes his teams better offensively just by touching the ball...and most importantly...he knows everything the Spurs run up to the latest tweaks.
Brent Barry has been traded to the Sonics, but remains out with a calf injury.
He should be set to return in the next week or so, but will likely have a limited role with the Sonics, just like he did with the Spurs. Barry may not be done moving yet, as there are rumors that the Suns will try to acquire him from the Sonics. Stay tuned. from rotoworld
Without breaking my b@lls too much, why do teams do the "buyout" instead of playing or letting a guy like Barry ride the pine until the summer and let him walk? For Barry to become a Sun, the Sonics would have to buy out his contract, the source said. Barry is making $5.5 million this year and is in the final year of his contract.
In other words, why not just keep Barry... what's the benefit of buying him out now?
Question.
Reduce payroll.
Don't he have kids in school here?

He can be bought out for less than the $5.5, Say he agrees to $5 and the Sonics pocket the other $.5.
I hope so...all the Sonics have to do is not buy him out.
I'd prefer they just hold on to him because if they let him go and he goes to LA or Phoenix, I'll be forced to hate his ass and I'd prefer not to do that.
Just throwing this out there... but I remember Barry said people at Phoenix treated him like during the last playoffss. He commented an old lady came over and told him he was a piece of or something like that and gave him the finger.
Ultimately if you have to eat, you'll go work anywhere but I think Barry has the luxury now to work whenever he wants for mostly the same money. Why go to Phoenix?
I could see LA but not Phoenix.
Do you think that is a priority of Seattle's this year?
Will they treat Barry coming back as a reunion tour of sorts?
Be great to re-acquire Barry, but don't see it as a necessity.
Brent is coming back here... I can feel it.
Fortunately, even as a Brent Barry fan, I can never say he was very good at coming back to haunt his old teams.
That being said, I'm still hoping entBray pulls a ackhouseStay.
I think any NBA team (except in certain cir stances) would like to pay less for the same production.
Report: Spurs interested in Dwight Howard.
Doesn't mean they'll get him.
Good point. Barry didn't exactly explode against the Sonics in 2005 . . .

barry is defenseless. his offense was great but hes now a very one dimensional player : spot up, in rare occassions handle the ball not to drive, but to start the offense. on the fast break he makes good decisions.
thats about it.
