Looks like whottt was right . . .
Suns interested in Brent Barry
Scott Bordow, Tribune
The Suns may not be done wheeling and dealing. A team source said that Phoenix would like to find a way to acquire veteran sharpshooter Brent Barry, who was traded Wednesday from the San Antonio Spurs to the Seattle SuperSonics.
For Barry to become a Sun, the Sonics would have to buy out his contract, the source said. Barry is making $5.5 million this year and is in the final year of his contract.
Barry, 36, is averaging 7.3 points per game this year and shooting 43 percent from 3-point range. He would be an ideal fit for Phoenix, given that defenses may sag inside to try to stop Shaquille O’Neal.

Very interesting...
Did whott call this?
you Steve Kerr!
great! now you'll need another server to house that ego of his![]()
Yeah. This adds more fuel to that whottt = Erin Barry.
Says nothing about Barry wanting to go to Phx...
If he were to get waived, I think the first place he'd look to go is right back to SA.
After all, I think he'd have a better chance of getting back in this rotation than cutting into the tight 7-man rotation that the Suns have.
I doubt Brent would do that. I'm sure it's possible Phoenix could clear him off waivers. If they don't and Brent is allowed to choose, I'd say San Antonio is his likely destination.
fok this kerr dude pryin on spurs roster
man fok this
Phoenix shows interest.
Uh huh.
Brent would fit in. Great shooter bad defender.
If it happens it would suck, but, its not the end of the world.
I still think Barry would come back. Lots of friends, the fam is here and he loves it in SA.
Don't they still have the Thomas trade exception?
Apparently, they don't want him that badly.
Provided that Brent isn't done.
So either the Spurs don't make a deal and go into the postseason with Francisco Elson as their 4th big, with maybe Horry having enough gas in the tank as their 3rd big, or they take care of that in spades with Thomas and have to deal with the possibility that a hobbled Barry ends up somewhere else.
Oh and it's not like Phoenix doesn't already have guys who can shoot the rock.
I don't think he would go to Phoenix.
When was Barry expected to be back from his injury or was there no definite date?
No kidding. Where are they in relation to the lux tax threshold?
Yeah, that was never clear, or I wasn't paying attention.
I don't understand how Thomas went from a "good pickup" with the said trade proposed wich was thomas for Barry and Elson, now all of a sudden its "BAD"
I don't get that.
We gave Barry rings!
If it comes down to him having to make a big shot in the playoffs against us, He'll miss on purpose!
If he were to sign with them it would break my heart.
kurt thomas cost the suns 2 first round picks,
sonics gm took one from the spurs
htf is kurt thomas worth 3 first round picks? hahhahahahaha
