    Ready or not, a San Antonio disc jockey whose show was called "edgy, outrageous and oftentimes blue" has been hired to host mornings at WKSC-FM (103.5).

    Drex, whose real name is Kevin Buchar, has attracted top ratings and lots of attention for the last seven years as morning personality at Infinity Broadcasting's KTFM-FM in the Alamo City. At various times and in multiple formats at the station, he has called himself "Dr. Drex," "Ultra Drex" and just plain "Drex."

    At "Kiss 103.5" here, he will host a show "that stands apart from all the rest because of his unique talent," said John Gehron, vice president and general manager of the contemporary-hit outlet and chief of Clear Channel ...

    I think it's probably going to be a lot like KISS, if for no other reason than to try and take a chunk of their audience to keep KISS from being #1...doesn't Univison own the Beat? If they created a KISS counterpart, then they would do so in order to keep the Beat at #1. Make sense?

    Personally, I think the FM radio in this town needs a swift kick in the ass. It's so stagnant. Mix plays the same 13 songs over and over, KISS rock is just played out, Jack is...well...Jack...

    FM radio in general sucks. Even satellite radio has turned into FM with an extended playlist. There is a problem with radio when my ipod has 30 times as many songs played on any FM radio station

    wow, is this true? I have Sirius and never ever listen to fm anymore so I don't know what's going on a lot of times. If this is true and it is like 101x in austin, all I gotta say is it's about in time this town got some modern rock. For those who have Sirius out there, is it like alt nation? Gotta go check this.

    After a listening for a while this afternoon, that's exactly what it is unfortunately.......a KISS replica. Maybe they do play some newer songs than kiss does but the old in rock is still in there mixed in . So no, it isn't like 101x in austin which is modern rock. I thought it would be like Alt Nation on sirius or more like 101x in austin, but nope.........just another KISS and we all know who's gonna win in the end. Thank god for satellite radio!
