Wait, what's becoming a rock station? 97.7 or 106.7?
I thought Power 106.7 was doing fairly well in the rating books? I'm surprised they're flipping formats, or am I reading wrong?
looks like they may be doing a 106.7 launch thing and going commercial free for awhile

Interersting...FM radio in San Antonio really sucks as is.
97.7 is the new rock station, but when 106.7 launched they were commercial free for 10000 songs or something like that which was what I meant. 97.7 is commercial free
power 106.7 sucks ass though.
Oh ok, I knew I was misunderstanding something.
I never listen but they're doing well in the books.
They're promos suck and their Djs blow.
Tell me how you really feel. lol
So how is this new station? KISS clone or better?
Considering the source where i got the info on the launch, whoever owns the BEAT probably owns this. Their promos are saying no commercial and no talk, based on just the music it's mostly modern rock, but i've only heard an hour
106.7 is a COX radio station. 97.7 is Univision.
Most flips, no matter the owner, start off with a certain amount of commercial free music.
Basically here's the idea.
Take the biggest stations, and develop a #2.
Kiss ===97.7
WOAI-----KTSA
Beat ----Power
Ticket-ESPN
Everyone who will remain the number 1 please stand up. Um,... not so fast Ticket. Please sit back down.

I already like this one more than when 102.7 launched Krock all those years ago.
you might hold serve on Local but Fox's national broadcast is pretty weak.
what station is jack on....jack goes commercial free dont they.....
I was listening to it while I was driving around this morning. I'm not really into today's rock but I did hear some good tunes.
The latest Arbitron Trends suggest otherwise...
As for the rock station, thank GOD! I like KISS and all, but it pales in comparison to 101X in Austin. We need more good FM stations in this town.
The stations been on for only a month.![]()
Correct, and in that month they LOST part of their audience while the Ticket GAINED more...just saying. Numbers don't lie.
Don't wanna hijack this thread since it's about the new rock station...I just wanted to correct you on your assumption.
I think I had heard that Drex was in Chicago?...could be wrong though.
Are you using R&R?
If so, they still have KZDC listed as a Regional Mexican. Those are the numbers for the prior station, not ESPN.
No, not using R&R, I've seen the actual trends (granted, the trends should be taken witha grain of salt anyway because after all, they ARE just trends)...but after looking at R&R, their numbers are correct, they just haven't updated the format for KZDC.
