Making my point for me. Thanks. How is this any different than having Rasho's contract that expires at the same time and is actually a little less. Thomas is coming off the bench, not playing all that much, and does not play when teams go small. He is touted for his smarts, his defense, and his mid-range jump shot.

What point. Kurt ain't getting 9 Million next year. I personally don't expect him to get more than $ 8 Million/ 2 years from the spurs... and I would guess closer to $6 Million/ 2 years. (Fitting in nicely with the 2010 plan).

The main difference is that Thomas isn't a pussy like Rasho. That's enough for me!

That's incorrect. The deal expires at the end of this season. I know you want it to be for another year, because that would be bad for the Spurs, and you're still bitter about their trading a marginal player that you stalk, and therefore you want to see them fail, but unfortunately it isn't.

No- the extension can be tacked onto the contract he already had.

If you add up the numbers for the 4 years you have listed, Kurt made nowhere near $30M dollars.

You do the math on that scenario. His contract with the Knicks before he signed the 4 year extension was set to expire in the 2003-04 season (as I've hilighted in your quote above). He then signs a 4 year extension in March of '04, right before he becomes a FA. That would have him signed for 04/05 (1st season), 05/06 (2nd season), 06/07 (3rd season), and 07/08 (4th and final season).

EDIT: Also look at the numbers you posted - it has 4 years/$30 million listed for his last three seasons without including this current season. This is the 4th year of his deal and he will be a FA at year's end.

The bad info floating around the internets was pointed about about three months ago. It's already been proven false.

Besides, every article announcing the draft has Thomas as an unrestricted free agent after the season. ESPN trade machine, which gets its info from the NBA, has Thomas as a free agent after the year. Both SA and Seattle beat writers have said Thomas is a FA.

But I guess if you want to believe bad info, not much we can do.

I'm not sure anyone said you got them from there. I do, however, believe that you are a bitter who wants to believe anything she finds on the net that makes something difficult or bad for the Spurs.

    Funny.

You might want to check the free agent list for this summer on the same site:

In addition to a 2009 first-round pick, the trade for Thomas netted seldom-used center Francisco Elson and injured guard Brent Barry, a former Sonic from 1999 to 2004. Both players have contracts that expire after the season, and it's likely that Barry, who has missed the past 3 ½ weeks with a left calf strain, will be offered a buyout on his $5.4 million contract....

....In 42 games, Thomas started 39 and averaged 7.5 points and 8.8 rebounds. Presti felt a need to trade the 35-year-old center, an unrestricted free agent this summer, rather than let him walk away for nothing.

KT is slower than he ever was in his career. But that's okay however because he rarely over-commits on plays in the paint and happens to be in good places at good times. We will see a lot more of him in the playoffs I am sure of.

I'm a little disappointed in Kurt, but I think I was expecting too much. Especially since he's not getting a lot of minutes. And he's still new to the system. I'm still expecting him to be a solid contributor in the playoffs.

I really don't know Thomas, kinda why I don't have any expectations when he was signed.

But I really like the addition of Kurt in our team. He goes after an offensive rebound which our team kinda lacks, defense is acceptable, he can shoot jump shots plus he and Manu had quickly developed good pick and roll chemistry.

He's done well, he's a role player and he's found a good role. Like you said, he's not being expected to do too much with the limited mintues.

If you really wanna see a let down, wait for Brent to come back and have ONE bad game. This place might erupt with "Brent should have gone to PHX" threads.

I've noticed this too, but the thing that I think that impresses me the most is his strength and the fact that he rarely bites on fakes.
