I hope the Spurs pass. That's even if he opts out. I doubt he will. He will not get $17 million from another team if he opts out.
The guy is a crybaby and is not a "perfect fit" for our system. No thanks.

no way he goes back to Phoenix. He's going to LA or NY
Too expensive for the Spurs
I hate his guts. He's a self involved attention . He definetely won't fit in the Spurs team oriented philosophy.
I hate that dude. I've always hated that dude. I will always hate that dude. Hate his game, his at ude...I even hate his face! (that's a lot of hate, I know)
And I don't understand how a guy like Shawn Marion could EVER think he could be "the man" on ANY team. What do you expect out of "the man" on your team??? To be able to have the confidence to put the ball in his hands and let him do the right thing with it at least right? And to LEAD. You'd have to agree those are necessary components right?
Dude's not a leader, and you DEFINITELY don't want the ball in his hands with the game on the line or ...for a posession. He gets the numbers he does off of other players dimes, slashing, and garbage points. , he's just a glorified Cedric Ceballos...and Ceballos even led the Lakers in scoring one year, and he wasn't "the man"!!
Help me: where do we get the 17 million to sign him and then the money to fill out the rest of the roster? Come on.
"A horrible team player." "Alienates all his teammates."
Complete bull . Don't believe all the things you hear from the media, Kori. Marion was a Sun for over 7 years because the organization loved him, the hard work he put into every game, his unbelievable hustle, and the fact that he was always a professional on the court, even when he whined about being overshadowed by Stoudemire and Nash. He made his teammates better with his hustle defense, and by doing all the dirty work.
He's never been in trouble with the law, never starts fights on the court, brings his A-game, every game. He's a professional, albeit an overly sensitive professional... but I've never seen that at ude manifest itself in his play.
There's a reason why Shawn Marion was a fan favorite in Phoenix from the moment he was drafted. Apart from creating his own shot, Marion did just about everything while in uniform.
Carib or Xylus, how does this happen?
The Spurs won't be able to afford him, which is good... because if you guys nabbed both Kurt Thomas and Shawn Marion, I'd be forced to go postal.
ROFL....
Those two things are mutually exclusive of each other.
You know how long that would last here when we have an MVP candidate coming off of the bench and a top 10 player of all time that doesn't give a about numbers?
The media would exaggerate just how unhappy he is, just like they always do. It wouldn't make a difference to his teammates or his team's play, because Marion gives his all whether he's personally happy or not with how the media treats him. That was my point.
And I don't think this would be an issue, as the Spurs would be a lock for the championship with Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, and Marion. Not just the favorites, but a mother ing lock.

Kori's post is spot on according to a Journalist who
A.) Likes the Suns
B.) Likes Marion
and C.) Spent a whole season on the Suns bench
I've read :07 and McCallum never implied that Marion was a bad teammate, but rather a headache for the organization. Doesn't it speak to what a great teammate Marion is that they kept him for 7 years, made him the highest paid player on our roster, despite the fact that he was overly sensitive?
And whoever compared the guy to Ron Artest is a moron.
Edit: Big surprise, it was HighLowLob that said it.
Okay, I take back wanting him as a spur.
That is just overboard insecurity. You could rationalize him being mad about not getting enough props, but this is just ridiculous.
didnt you lose a bet to someone about your sig mr. integrity
You can always tell what a player is all about by their actions....
Joe Johnson going from Phoenix to Atlanta, etc. Marion's actions will let you know if it's about "feeding his family" or winning a le.
Actually I think Artest is a better teammate and team player than Marion. We tend to extend Artest's off court antics on to his player profile.
It's sad to go to management to complain that the cheerleaders didn't wear your jersey. I dont' if it is true, but if it is then W T F?
