Gasol is sure a beast at center though. He and Odom own the middle. Bynum might make it a little more crowded so it could hurt your offense as well like Shaq hurt the Suns.
This is why we need Bynum. We could funnel all that penetration to him and completely take away that part of POR's game.

I don't actually hate the blazer team. They play super well against us and always seem to play us tough no matter who's out there. I just ing hate their commentators. By far, and I mean by far the worst in the League:
I put them behind the Celtics though, but I don't watch a lot of Celtic games and they've sucked so much up until this year.
Worst announcers:
Boston
Miami
Portland
You mean the Suns who are scoring more ppg since Shaq joined them. Those Suns?
God Miami's guys suck. It's not that they're even that big of homers, but their play-by-play guy's voice is just so ing annoying. Tommy Heinsohn is awful to listen to. Awful. I don't ever watch SA, but Dime mag just wrote a nice article talking about what a homer Sean E. is.
Wow. I typed Sean E's last name and it subs uted it for the phrase "dirk is my daddy" about 15 times. Some mavs fan has hacked Spurstalk.
I think the Lakers can afford a dip in their offense to shore up the D.
Yes I did. I usually have my laptop with me at that bar.
The mavs held them to 96 points. I couldn't see that being possible if they had Marion instead.
Tlong- you should have gone to the game…Beating the Lakers & getting to the 500 mark is like winning the NBA le for Portland fans…Sipping beer in some bar can not match the excitement, confetti, high 5’s of that exuberant Blazer crowd…
It is always fun to watch the Blazers beat the Lakers even though it is a routine occurence. I just didn't want to sit in the upper level...and $2 beers beats $8 beers any day.
If it was against the Sonics, I wouldn't blame you. But the Lakers are a big ticket. You should have gone!
gotta add toronto to that list chuck swirsky is bias and annoying as
Swirsky voted for Bargnani to receive ROY last year. The only vote that didn't go to Brandon Roy. He's an idiot.
lol..who the fck brings there laptop to the bar...and goes on spurstalk at the same time instead of talking to thier friends....hey. Did you go to the bar by yourself?
Some of us routinely go to the bar by ourselves…I bring my laptop as well & throw out the occasional laugh like I have real friends I am conversing with…
BTW- The Blazers have made an incredible recovery from the team they were just two seasons ago…I hear that they may receive salary cap relief from Miles? In any case, when they get all their players back the Blazers will be one of the top teams in the West…![]()
I would tend to agree with lefty on this take, however I've done it myself. Adults who love the NBA yet choose to live in a non-NBA city don't get my sympathy. I moved to Austin for work but the Toros never roused much of my interest. I moved back.
I say don't feel bad-as I said, I've done it before and weighed: "Do I really wanna get up, get dressed, meet this person, find parking, walk a football field length to the door, pay $7 for a beer, maybe $4 for popcorn (gawd forbid I actually want to either get drunk or eat-I'd be $100 lighter), worry about not getting up to go to the restroom too much as it may anger the other fans (and I'm not armed), leaving the game, driving back, picking up my car, etc. And these were GOOD seats!
My rationale came from my following statement in the conversation (with myself): "Or I could just stay on this beautiful leather couch in this awesome place, in awesome HD, p!$$ when I want, have a beer brought to me when I want, and do pretty much anything else I want, whenever I want?"
...I went with the latter.![]()
You're not a snob. Your actions simply confirm what most of us already knew; you aren't actually a fan. You probably only claimed to have actually watched the game on television because you found out the Blazers won.
Unless it's a marquee matchup, then I'd prefer to watch the Spurs on a 63' plasma, in the comfort of my own home.
However, playoffs is a completely different story. The atmosphere is unreal. Opening Night/Ring Ceremony was pretty fantastic as well.
nope. upper deck seats suck. i'm 36. i did the crappy seats in my day, fought the traffic on work nights, listen to drunks spew out ridiculous statements, spent 10 dollars for a beer all to watch a game where men that are 7 feet tall looked as small as my nail on my pinky. no thanks.
plus the last 5 years tickets have sky rocketted. no thanks, you are not a snob for not wanted to sit in upper deck.
Nosebleeds are not for me...if i cant sit lower level or suite at a mavs game, id say no thanks to upper level tix...nowadays with HD and 5.1 surround sound, it overtakes upper-level seating at any sporting event
You may be stretching it a bit, but I agree with your basic point. I hate all the garbage that comes with the NBA "experience."
Other than the dancers (the Honeybees are looking fine in New Orleans!), they can lose the loud rap music during timeouts, the dumb promotions, the PA guy telling us when to cheer. I know the game of basketball -- I know when to cheer, thankyou. I don't have attention-deficit and don't need to be constantly entertained. I just want to enjoy the game.
