Tex's is good.......if their service has improved any and they've figured out what goes in a Scotch & soda. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

Holy crap you have been to my bar! When were you there? Who was your bartender/waitres?

Another suggestion (and I'm 4 years removed from my last visit there) is Billy Ts over on the Austin Highway. Very good burger and excellent onion rings.

    Don't remember a TV though.

We used to have GTG's there a lot....but it started taking too long to get drinks and/or food and they always seemed to be pushing us out of the door.

And I don't think Kori dug the big chunk of glass in one of her drinks.....

Honestly, look into Bracken Burger (don't know if they're still open latenight though), CheesyJanes, and Logans Roadhouse has good burgers, don't know about their rings though their fries are good.

You guys are talking about two different places. SpursWoman is talking about Tex's Sports Bar and Grill which is in the Hilton or whatever.

During the playoffs I go to Stoneworks at the Quarry if the weather is nice...

They always play the game outside on a huge projector screen and play WOAI as the commentator heh.

Billy T's is a good burger but no TV.

Hooters is set up for sports...

    Fox and the Hound

    Wing Stop?

I hear good things about Champs.

Oh yeah, tons. You do have to fight the young preppy "I am too good for you" crowd though and that can be annoying.

fox and the hound, that place is so pretensious.

It's free on TV everywhere, just wanted to go somewhere and watch it.

My vote is for Champs or Chesters....

At some point Fuddruckers will get hip again and get another big screen. Until then however they are good burgers and nothing more

...and they've stopped serving folks drinks in broken glasses. Too bad Maggies closed.

The best burgers in San Antonio, hands-down, is Longhorn Cafe off of Blanco and 1604. They have a big screen, and a bunch of smaller TVs. It's not set up as a sports bar, but there is definitely the ability to watch the game there. Their onion rings are great, also.

Also, NE Baptist isn't too far, so you can swing by on the way home, and grab an angioplasty, which you'll need. But, they're wonderful burgers.

No . We had some classic GTG's there...including Game 6 of the 2003 WCF when Timvp called the Spurs win when SA was 13 down and Steve Kerr had not yet come in.
