Seriously? if your team had lost you would have been ing about all the calls in the first half.
As usual, the league is going to try and manufacture drama by trying to extend this series to the max number of games through the use of corrupt officials.
There is no reason at all we couldn't have an anonymous crew like Bill Spooner, Gary Zielinski and Rodney Mott. Except for the fact that then the game would likely be officiated in an unbiased manner instead of manipulated.
Make the way officials are assigned random and transparent. Once that happens, I will never complain about officiating assignments again.
Seriously? if your team had lost you would have been ing about all the calls in the first half.
I'm going to believe that Lanny brought this subject to our attention because of the Spurs fans' whining after the last game. I'm going to believe that this is an attempt to preempt the all-too-certain complaining about refs after the Lakers win again tonight.
Because you know there will be.
After winning three legitimate championships this decade, there are still Spurs fans who believe there is a conspiracy to cheat them.
They cheat themselves from believing in honest compe ion.
I agree, they were good![]()
Salvatore is going to fix games against LA in Staples? The same Salvatore who giftwrapped game 4 of the 2003 WCSF to LA by giving Shaq and Kobe 45 free throws?
Some fans always do...
Best team always wins a 7 game series.
Oh the hypocrisy.
So basically you're saying........If the Lakers win, it's a referree "unbiased manner" and if the Spurs win, it's "manipulated". You are so damn smart. You have it. That's must be it. No way the Championship Team could beat the Fakers without corrupted officials.![]()

I feel so much better about tonight then. So, the Spurs are guaranteed to win then??? Please say it is so, Lanny.

Where are the Suns, - ?
Actually, it's 4 legitimate championships since 1999. Get your facts straight, assclown. Just because Phil Jackson says something doesn't make it so.
If you look at the officiating stats for this crew in regard to the home team, you have to assume that the *purs will be given every break tonight.
Review my thread at LG for more stats and details on this crew. The thread is led: Game 2 Officiating Assignments - NBA Jumps The Shark
What's laughable is the thought of an incompetent official like Gary Zielinski calling a conference finals game.
What's even more laughable is the thought of the league doing anything that might harm the Lakers' chances to reach the Finals.
Remember that time that Stern said his dream Finals matchup would be Spurs vs. Spurs?
This is the same LakerLanny who once claimed that the 2003 Spurs won the NBA le with an unprecedented free throw attempts disparity, only to have it proven to him that several Lakers champions for years before had larger FTA disparities in the playoffs.
Consider the source.
Gary Zielinski is certainly no worse than Bennett Salvatore or the absolutely corrupt Ken Mauer
I would rather have Violet Palmer, at least she misses calls both ways....Mauer doesn't, it is always an obvious bias against the Lakers with him that is so blatant it is simply ridiculous.
What is the point of your signature?
Spurs are 2-0 with Sal in these playoffs. Look like they get the split.
Yeah it was.
You have to be a special kind of insecure Laker fan to believe the league is out to make life difficult for the Lakers.
Salvatore? In LA?
Ah![]()
Unless, of course, you consider the way that games that Salvatore and Mauer have called during the 2008 Playoffs have come out.
Salvatore has worked 10 games to date with the home team having won 8 of those 10. Mauer has also worked 10 games in these playoffs with the home team having won 9 of 10.
Those kinds of stats would certainly seem to indicate that Game 2 will be called unconscionably in favor of the Spurs.
You know, I've bothered to actually study the assignment of officials by the NBA for playoff games over the last several years and I can tell you that if you study it closely, it does become a fairly transparent and very orderly process. In that sense, you're absolutely full of crap.
Several days before it happened, I formulated a short list of 11 that included all 3 of the Game 7 officials for the Spurs/Hornets series.
I also made accurate predictions about who would be the lead officials in Games 5 and 6 of that series.
And I posted a thread on Tuesday morning accurately predicting that Dan Crawford would call Game 1 of this series.
And I posted a thread yesterday predicting that the lead official for Game 2 would either be Ed Rush or Bennett Salvatore.
It makes me laugh that you claim to be such a close follower of NBA officiating, but offer so little in the way of useful knowledge about the things that you complain of.

Yet Lanny, should your conspiracy theory have validity (It doesn't), then a Laker championship would be worth little if the league is so corrupt.
But of course, You'll have overcome the corrupt conspiracy, the bought officials and beat Stern by the sheer force of Laker magnificence blah blah blah. Yours would of course be legitimate, everybody else's is cir spect. Yeah right.
Laker fans are so silly.
This has to be a troll. Surely there is no way any Lakers fan could feel they get anything close to slighted when it comes to officiating.
Pathetic.
