The Spurs could have ended the series with a good closeout to the half, now it's a dog fight again. The overall energy has been lacking. Parker is the only one trying to create shots and he's forcing passes and shots.

Duncan has been decent, but not what you'd expect in a closeout game. Manu has been missing on both ends of the court. Only Finley and Oberto are playing up to their capabilities.

The Spurs need to take the ball to the hole in the second half. No more step back threes for Manu and no more unaggressive moves from Duncan. Parker needs to keep driving and attacking the Nuggets D.

The beginning six minutes of the third quarter will be vital. If the Spurs can't regain control of the game, that second quarter performance could end up being a playoff altering quarter ... for the worse.

Hopefully this motivates them to come out and play strong and remember that the Nuggets aren't going to roll over because they are down.

Sort of like when the lead was cut in half in game 2 - they came out a lot stronger. That's what the need to do now. Keep doing what works. Get more rebounds. Pass the ball. Tighten the defense. the jumpshot - DRIVE IN.

They KNOW what works - the same thing that has worked all series long. Drive in. Be aggressive on offense and on the boards. Make them work for every shot. Keep it going.

Now they just need to do it for the next two quarters. You guys are a championship quality team - you know what to do. DO IT.

Unfortunately, Manu is the only one who has experience playing without either of the other two. Neither of the other two can play alone, especially Tony. It's just how it is.

Manu doesn't suck. Have you seen the way Denver focuses in on him? They practically have three defenders on him. He owned them in the '05 playoffs and they want to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Manu is not playing to his ability. You would expect more out of him. His confidence is shot. I am guessing that started happening after he made it all to commonplace to turn the ball over with less than a minute remaining towards the end of the year.

This is why i was still worried coming into tonight even up 3-1. Every game in this series has been to the wire, Spurs have not been dominant.

Both Tim and Tony have played with either one or both of the big three the whole season. That's how Pop's rotations work, if you pay attention.

I didn't say Tony is playing poorly, I just said he has NO experience playing without the other two on the floor. And it showed.
