2-5 vs Warriors/OKC/Clippers/Toronto/CLE
We eked out two unconvincing Ws..I'm more and more into the "we are not as good as our record" camp, tbh....
Only one of their top 4 though... and playing at home... we have a bunch of guys that struggle on the road for whatever reason...

Can't read too much into any of these losses.
- OKC was the first game of the season, and was on the road in a notoriously tough place to win.
- We always underperform in Toronto.
- Warriors are killing everyone.
- In tonight's game, neither team was at full strength, and it was the 1st game after an 8 day layoff.
Now if we can't beat Toronto/OKC at home, then it might be time to start worrying.
So am I. I don't care what their point differential, net rating, simple rating system, etc. says; something just feels off with this team.
When they kept losing to elite teams in '14, I felt that, with Parker beginning his decline, it was more the lack of a true go to player for a contending team, that was the issue, more than a team wide thing. This feels more team wide.
This particular game wouldn't be alarming, if not for the fact that it was a microcosm of the way they've lost, over and over, to good teams, on the road, since '14. The offense, in these situations, particularly to start games, has been atrocious. The defense, though bound to slip some, in these situations, has been repeatedly shredded. In most of these games, they're not even close. Even the Clippers and Cavaliers games they won, they didn't play well for most of those games.
The big three not being the same as even two years ago, kills this team, because they still fall short, in terms of high end star power, in comparison to every other elite team. Not only that, but their stars games are too similar offensively to mesh and neither makes anyone better.
Gonna give up 30 to the Lakers in the 1st![]()
Getting warm...

Forgot we have the![]()
Yep. The Pelicans are officially gutless worms, tbh.![]()
Worst half of the season?
It shows how poor the NBA is right now when a team like the Spurs can have such a good record on paper. I'd take any other SA team from this decade over this year's team.
Damn, there's no sense of urgency & extra motivation at all, everybody just going by motion like lifeless zombies out there.![]()
Spurs offense has been fools gold all season. Good defenses can and will stop it cold because there is no continuity, fluidity and ball movement to speak of. Spurs score mostly on ISO ball, kick outs and defensive breakdowns. That's a recipe for disaster against a quality defensive team.
Much better start to this half...
Embarrassing display without Pop putting them on their place...
poor performance, but nothing to do with being "gutless"
I thought the team was pretty gutsy trying to steal it, despite the loss and the 1st half...
worms sighting
Warriors on a back-to-back, 6th game in 9 nights on the road. And leading. At San Antonio. Spurs are not an elite team.
How is this funny? Spurs barely defeat a crippled and very tired Warriors team at home.
A win is a win.
I sure as hope we don't run that offense down the stretch in a game vs. GS. We'll get absolutely slaughtered in crunch time.
Actually, Pop pretty much tanked the 4th quarter for some reason... Manu was killing it, only played 18 mins, and never saw another minute, while Bonner was out there with one turd after another...
