I believe in bottom up democracy steered by and toward the common good rather than by and for personal acquisition. I believe in personal autonomy, political and social equality for men and women -- whatever their skin tint, sexual orientation or personal beliefs -- to pursue their happiness and prosperity without hurting others.
I put a burning emphasis on invisible values like honesty, kindness and knowing one's limits and flaws. So as to understand and live with others.

I guess I roughly adhere to humanistic and pragmatic takes on politics and piety. Much depends on whether the results are good for the adherents and generally.

Looks like Scalise is going for the speakership. He’s not that much more right wing than McCarthy but re: the NY wave babies he didn’t bust his ass to fund their campaigns last year the way McCarthy did so it’ll be interesting to see if they go for him or if they demand concessions.
