    imo...

    1.7mil - It's compe ive
1.8mil - Biden has a real shot at winning TX
1.9mil - I'd be comfortable putting money on Biden winning TX
Is it fair to assume the following. Thursday and Friday early voting averages the same ~ 60k votes per day for a total of 120k additional votes. That would put the total amount of early votes at 1.39 million. If Harris County replicates, but doesn’t exceed, the votes cast on Election Day, that would be another 330k. That would put HC above the 1.7 million threshold, and any extra vote cast on Election Day bringing it closer to 1.8

I think you'll see an uptick in early voting today and tomorrow because there are 24 hour sites. IIRC there's also an uptick on the last day once people realize they either need to vote now or wait in line on election day. That, plus the absentee ballots that have yet to get tallied should put them at around 1.45 million headed into election day.

If I had to project it I'd say it ends up around 1.8 million turnout once the polls close.

And Republicans filed a motion in court to get 100,000 drive thru votes invalidated in HC

Seeing that the same court rejected their previous motion to halt drive through voting, I that doesn’t seem likely to work. It would be unprecedented for a court to do that.

    That is ing badass.

Collectively, the counties in TX with over 200k voters have surpassed their 2016 total. Would love to see another 1.5 to 2 million votes cast in those counties between now and when the polls close.

    16M registered voters.

That will make for 68% turn out.

    Totally bonkers.

Republicans chances of losing the state go up with each extra vote.

“Harris County is the tip of the spear for Democrats in Texas,” Rottinghaus said. “It needs to be leading turnout to be able to offset some of the Republican strongholds in rural parts of the state. Basically, Texas doesn't flip if Harris County doesn't have supersized turnout.”
He estimates at least 1.5 million voters need to turn out in Harris County for Democrats to have a reasonable shot at winning Texas. With another two days left of early voting, it’s possible the county could hit that total before Election Day.

Still think you need upwards of 1.7 to truly put Texas in play, but interesting to note others have proffered lower thresholds

Yeah I think the white trash vote in rural Texas is going to be out in full force on Election Day, Harris County needs huge turnout and Biden probably needs to win 60+% of the Harris county vote.

I hear you. Only thing I’d add is that Harris county isn’t the only county in Texas. These numbers are smaller in comparison but still worth noting.
