Actually, Patty could be a nice trade chip mid-season if he doesn't up his game. We need a better version of Patty than we had last season.
Patty is better than Manu at this point tbh. And I love Manu.

He should be, he's 27 after all. He deserved a pass last season for showing up against the Clipper the previous playoffs, IMO.

I love Patty too, but he does need to have a better season. I mentioned trade chip because he's in the last year of a reasonable deal, but frankly, looking at it again, with this market, you probably can't get for $3.5m, tbh

    Yep!! Favorite new Spur

He looks so damn comfortable shooting from so deep, and the lift as well.

Bertans is going to be that random Euro player the Spurs sign that is pretty solid this season. 2013 was neal, 2014 was baynes, didnt have one in 2015 but marjanovic was good in 2016. Dude has a nice quick stroke and good range and he gets that shot off pretty quick. also he is nothing like Bonner he actually has some athleticism. I like him

He has a very replaceable skill set. Tiny shooters are a dime a dozen. A hungry young guy like Forbes might replicate him or even be better as he makes plays off the dribble and yet just bc he's unproven he's very cheap. Patty will get paid and maybe what he will cost won't be worth it. Some say in this latter stage of Manu's career a guard like Cojo who attacks the basket might have been the better fit with our bench. I believe guards who make plays off the dribble is what Pop was looking for in Dijon and Simmons. Mills is too limited to a chucker jumpshooter and it's unwise to build a bench around him with a diminished Manu or even a Manu who may retire next season. I think the Spurs are already looking a different way.

I was calling for them to do exactly what GS did, to get McCaw. But after missing him, I wanted them to take a flyer on Fred Van Vleet. I think he'll make a solid backup PG, and they could have had him for next to nothing. Toronto just gave him partially-guaranteed money and invited him to camp. I wish the Spurs had done it. I don't know if any of you saw him in SL, but he kicked Kris Dunn's ass on some defensive plays. He's not flashy, but he's solid. Meh... he's also gone.

I posted on the Bonner thread, but I think the Spurs should look at getting Marcus Smart from Boston, and PG insurance. If Chip could help him with his shooting, he could be a good backup point. If Chip worked miracles with his shooting, he would be a steal.

It will be interesting how hungry Patty is. In the championship season Sean could bring up the Tazmanian Devil shtick once or twice a game ... last season it happened like 5 times alltogether.
The hustle just was not there ...

    Just comparing, ey

Ok, so we know the young Durant can score:

But Bertans......this guy can also stroke it, gentlemen:

and we all know our young archer can improve his touch under the shooting guru Engelland! So, itll be interesting how he develops.
