If we trade him for AD (i know it's not possible) would playing in New Orleans, LA still be considered LA for him and his camp?
the only chance that happens is if NOLA accepts the Lakers garbage and flips AD for Kawhi.

That’s an easy one. They’ll just show the team medical reports and radiology images from March until now showing them nothing was wrong with Leonard. Confidential of course.
Teams have waived physicals before, it's not a big deal. The waiving of the physical will be part if the trade

Besides, the physical would be hard for Kawhi to tank. He's already been cleared by the Spurs.
It's all pain management anyway supposedly solved by Philly doctor's rehab plan

Define “Godfather Lakers offer.” In Magic’s eyes, that probably Ingram + Kuzma + a couple picks.

    Still wouldn’t do it.
The Lakers are the ones that wouldn't do it

Spurs fans lmao. Think they have any leverage here lol

I am not sure Kawhi and LeBron and a roster full of minimum contracts beats the Warriors. Or even the Rockets, tbh. One injury to the big 2 (one who is 34 and long over due, and another who is injury prone) and they're even lottery bound.
Zero chance that team beats the Warriors. You could add Paul George to that team too and they'd still have no chance against the Warriors.

Hard to believe isn't? That the Spurs are currently the center of discussion this off-season, after all of years being an "under the radar team".

Funny b/c we don't even know if the Spurs offered the supermax or, if they did, if he would take it. That's the most basic part of all of this and we don't even know that.
They haven't offered it because of the medical issue

That's what I dont get. Everyone keeps talking about these great package the Lakers can put together but everything mentioned sucks.

Kevin O'Connor was talking about this and said if the Lakers put Ingram and kuzma on the table no one can compete with that unless Boston puts Tatum up.

Wtf O'Connor.... that package sucks. If all we get is Ingram and kuzma I'm going to be pissed.
Kevin O'Conner is a tool who talks about the Spurs on Reddit, he's not a credible basketball mind, just a biased blowhard

The Spurs could not get Randle and that would be better than getting him, for instance.
Not sure what you mean there. Since Julius Randle is a RFA they could match any offer sheet and then trade him I thought. Either way, they have lots of assets so they can trade lonzo for a future lottery pick, give them the next years first round as well as possibly add Kuzma, Ingram, Hart
.. has any amount more ever been offered in a trade? Just saying causing Lakers to sell the farm, the Spurs would have to consider vs the East teams that would are negotiating under a possible 1 yr lease of Kawhi.

The only players mentioned I like are Saric and Tatum (unless you count Hayward), but Tatum won't happen and Philly can't put together a package around Saric that makes sense (Fultz doesn't with Murray on our team).

That said, if no major shakeups (three teamers) happen, I'm all for keeping Kawhi and see what happens.

you forget randle, i don't like much a kuzma ingram pack but if we could have those three plus picks i'll be ok . Except Brow from Boston i don't see better options for youth ( not mentioning tatum).

And you could not say fultz is a better prospect than ingram now, maybe but we don't know.... Fultz , Saric plus picks is not enough for me or equal to randle ingram +/- kuzma and picks.
I doubt the Spurs even want Randle. He's in line to get paid more than Kawhi is making, while only showing flashes for like half a season of his career. Oh, and he can't shoot.

Fultz is both a better and worse prospect than Ingram, which is exactly what higher ceiling and lower floor means. Of the two, he's more likely to both bust out, or break out and be a star. You have to take that chance when you're getting fifty cents or less on the dollar in a trade, and hope to catch lighting in a bottle. LA has nothing remotely like that Miami 2021 unprotected pick, and that's the deal tipper for me.

There is no godfather offer that could come from LA, that's a joke

Even if it was Ingram+kuzma plus unprotected 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2025 firsts with optional pick swaps in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

And that should be the minimum
Was thinking the same on the way to work

Pop and Spurs waived the physical for Charles Smith after he failed it when the Knicks added cash to the deal

In the end it wasn't even his bad knees that ended his career but his ankles

I mean Randle would be a negative in a trade. Paying a 4 year, $108 million max deal for that pos sounds horrible.

Clam chowder, a Steven Tyler autographed bong and one Patriots ticket (regular season)
The autographed bong and Kyrie and Tatum should get her done!!

Woj said earlier that they wouldn't offer it unless they have confirmation that he's healthy. Makes sense after sitting out an entire season!

Been watching Ingram highlight videos in case the Spurs fold like pathetic cowards

Not impressive at all, and that's the highlights! Looks like Kyle Anderson willing to shoot long twos. Slow.

    Nothing to get excited about

No wonder the Lakers want to get rid of him. Even weak, quitting Kawhi in his last 3 games as a Spur was about 10 times better, easy.

The Lakers, in their desperation, might waive the physical.

I don't think there's any way in Boston or Philly would.

    Here is my breakdown:

Kawhi and Spurs meet and he asks for the supermax. Spurs say no.

Kawhi then leaks that he doesn't want to play for the Spurs anymore and prefers to go to L.A. This is done to try to get leverage and to try to force the Spurs to trade him to L.A.

Spurs and Kawhi meet again and again he asks for the $219 million. Spurs are a little more open to it, but only if they get a guarantee that he's 100% healthy, which is why Kawhi's camp leaks that he is pretty much 100% and should be ready to go by the time training camp starts.

Kawhi and Spurs talk recently and state they are open to coming back to San Antonio, but only for the $219 million and this time the Spurs are somewhat willing to give it to him, but only if they get that guarantee about his health. Kawhi says they will give the Spurs the health report or whatever if/when they get the supermax.

Spurs say no and now are open to trades. They still won't agree unless it's a crazy deal and still hold out hope Kawhi will be open to coming back.

Kawhi now says hey I'm also open to the Clippers and even a couple of teams on the East.

i've come to this conclusion. leonard on the spurs next season still does nothing to make the spurs better than GS as the spurs roster is currently constructed. it puts us into the western conference finals perhaps with a shot at something if an injury takes place but there is always the chance that the injury is to leonard himself (he's never played more than 70 games). lebron is going to be 34 for most of the upcoming season and then on to 35. yes, he's in remarkable shape but he's going to be on the wrong side of 30 soon. in some ways, the spurs have a chance to build a team for the first time. it's a gauntlet but one that they at least may have some pieces to build a foundation on. if they can get some first rounders and a solid off and on all star player then they may be better off than moving forward with a questionable leonard in terms of at ude and health. i trust they will not pull the trigger on a crappy trade so i can only hope they get the most for their buck. it's sad that it has come to this but leonard has proven to be a total in this entire process and that is something i have been reluctant to concede for quite some time.
