My fandom is just fine, thanks.
As I've told you in countless PMs, YES!
My fandom is just fine, thanks.
I too agree with Whottt, it probably was Horry's last game in SA.
No, Honestly the types of fans like your baseline bums. Are the great fans of pro-sports. We have fans like that for the Saints. Some of who live only to make opposing fans time at the game , some of which start cheers, or what-not.
These guys you have, are old time fans, and the tradition is passed down. No faults with them. We chher fouls and boo calls against us, no matter if we are at fault or not.
The Hornets fans haven't been around as long, and even us who bought tickets for the 02-03 season, still had those two years without them.
So I applaud you B-line Bums. If West hadn't been hurt in the first place it wouldn't have been an issue. Who cares about pissing us off, because we want to piss you off Monday. I think West will be back for that game. I think the home team will win.
So if it was to be Horry's last game, at least he was able to have his name chanted, when the normally silent, lethargic fans were actually loud.
On a side note the old man who looks like a grey haired KISS troll, someone need to take that wooden noisemaker away from him. That is so annoying and you hear him all the time on TV.
This whole thing is ridiculous...for anyone to think that foul or the cheering is unacceptable is a joke.
It's playoff basketball, what about that do fans not get? There are going to be hard fouls, there are going to be tempers and at udes...if Spurs fans want to feel shame for that incident then they should probably find another team to cheer for.
He's been wearing the same stuff for all playoffs home games. For some reason, I think he's good luck
NO ONE and i mean NO ONE in this Spurs roster had the balls to do what Robert Horry did... CP3 has been deserving a hard foul since the beginning of the series and so David West... Robert Horry just put things on its place.. u don;t win a championship playing soft D
Thank you! I've spent the first 3 years of college attending Tennessee Vols football games and seeing SEC rivalries like UT vs FL Gators, UT vs Georgia...etc. You'll see fans dumping beer on each other, cursing at each other for the entire duration of the game, throwing things at each other...do i think these things are classy...NO. But it's what makes the rivalry, and when our fans go to Gainsville or Athens to attend games in their stadium, we get the same treatment.
This is hardly something to be apologizing for.
You're en led to your opinion as I am to mine. I take good sportsmanship to heart and I respect those that feel the same.
I have to disagree I'm an LSU fan yelling "Tiger Bait" at someone and talking trash is funny and builds a rivalry. Throwing beer bottles or dumping beer on someone while doing it is just stupid immature and is something that shouldn't be tolerated.
I didnt say i was doing it and i didnt say it was classy, i simply said it happens regardless of whether or not you tolerate it. Fans cheering for Horry is hardly something to be apologizing for.
Oh yeah SEC games. Usually pre-game you will get a warm reception and enjoy some southern comfort. Then right before the game starts, it goes wild. Our (LSU) fans do get pretty mean to opposing fans, but5 I think Auburn and Gainesville are the toughest for visiting fans, Death Valley is the worst for visiting teams.
We all need to focus on our teams, I don't care what you think about us. We do alot to piss people off (the boooooing, GEAUX), as do you. I think it adds to the fun.
Like Whottt said more attention should be given to the fact that it could be Horry's last game.
Damn - found out at last. ! And it's believed to even be in his contract with bonus money, too.Spurs FO wont comment on this, though.
Gainesville sucks...it's absolutely terrible going down there to support the Vols, but in a way it's kinda fun cause you get the worst treatment as a person just to support your boys. If you don't like it, find another sport, find another team, or turn your penis in. Who cares what other teams or opposing fans think of you, it's about your team and your team winning.
And to be honest, do i want David West to get better in time for game 7? no, do i hope he gets better eventually, sure i do. If Duncan got hurt during game 6 would you hope like that he gets better in time for game 7? no you wouldnt, yall want to win, just like we want to win. I just dont get the apologizing and "hope he gets better" talk.
It would have been interesting to see Amare play last year, i still think we would have won, but not having to see him for a game was nice. Any Spurs fans who say they really hope he plays monday are lying to themself and other fans.
I like talking ball with NO fans, i actually think they're funny, but that doesnt mean i want to see NO win, and that doesnt mean i'm going to apologize for Horry putting a hard foul on DWest.
I thought you didn't want to get into a pissing contest with me and had accepted defeat? That doesn't sound like an acceptance of defeat...
Look, you don't like your fandom being questioned? That's exactly what you did to those fans cheering Horry's name...
It's ok for you to give your opinion but not for others to give theirs?
You attributed to a certain segment of fans, a certain segment that have never cheered a seriously injured player, in nearly 40 years, you attributed to them a lack of sportsmanship and a desire and sense of enjoyment over David West's injury...
And you were simply wrong to do so. They were not cheering David West's injury...you are wrong about that, they were cheering Robert Horry.
And according to at least one other attendee who posted in this thread...the same group gave West a standing ovation when he got up...
Not an act of classlessness or poor sportsmanship...but a level of fan interaction with players, actually a several levels of interaction, that you were unaware of.
That they were chanting Horry should have made it pretty clear. That they didn't boo West getting up should make it even more clear. It's not a typical chant...for a hard foul, for a player getting injured, for anythiung it's not any kind of a common chant in San Antonio...and neither is celebrating a player injury.
Trust me...the day SA Fans start cheering injuries to players...the baseline bums will be the last ones joining in...not the ones starting it.
IT'll be the new fans from "this time" that start that .
[/pissing contest]
actually being there >>>>>>>> TV.

He's wrong anyway....it was obvious that the fans were cheering Horry. It was obvious on TV they weren't cheering West's injury...it was also obvious that if anything they cheered when he stood up and there were no boos.
It was so obvious that the announcing team didn't even deem it worth a condemnation as they do any time fans cheer an injury.
Not for a second after they chanted Horry did I have any doubt about why they were chanting. It's not a common chant...and neither are Spurs fans cheering injuries.
Guess you didn't read what I posted below.
instead of making some huge post about the incident, i'll make it real simple. I agree with what whottt said.
also, s.

Rightttttttttttttttt. To bad everyone at the game does not feel the same way..Why would they cheer Horry on that play? Good God man!
because Horry made an intelligent play, and it might be his last game ever in SA?
you are such an idiot.
- Mars
OH OK. C'mon. You are fooling yourself. Its a dirty play. You are the idiot. The Cheered for knocking West on his ass, from behind, cheered watching West obviously in agony. Give me a freaken break.
You're very sensitive for a man don't ya think?
he didnt do much, and most of the spurs fans there apparently hated d. west
David West should press charges. LMAO
