Don't remember what side you were on but I was on the side that signing RJ was the best they could do. I was pretty ing wrong. I can admit it. I didn't mean to get you all butt hurt to this point, DPG. I hope you can recover soon. PM your address and I'll send you some flowers.
Sure. You would be the only person not to remember that.

I guess I don't put as much stock into remembering everything said on ST as you DPG.

Look man, you've got good basketball takes, but right now you're acting like someone trying to relive their glory days on their high school debate team. Give it a rest.

It's not just TP's PER. It's common for guards that are athletic to have their overall FG% drop drastically along with their ability to finish around the rim. Much like FG% and REB RATE indicate when a big man may be declining, TP's numbers at this stage correlate highly with someone who's declined athletically.
Not only the metrics, but actually watching TP play has me thinking that he's either tired from playing over summer, carrying an injury, or has started to decline... he looks like a shadow of himself out there.

I was never against trading TP to improve the team but dude it's too late, we won't get star players for tp and manu anyway, trading them won't bring a 5th to SAS... in his final year I'm pretty sure Tim is happy to play with Tony and Manu... I mean they are together for 10 years.

If one preach to help tim to get another trophy then tim is the one we should try to trade for a contender

Personally I just prefer see these 3 together with a SAS jersey till the end
Not true. I think we could still get some nice assets for Manu and TP either at the deadline or in the offseason.

When did this become a fact? He's given no such indication and if anything, it sounds as if he's leaning towards playing another season. It's as if the masses think they can make the decision for him.

They're not trading Ginobili and unless this season goes south to the point where they don't look like they're going to make the playoffs, they won't trade Parker, either. Since they've failed to acquire adequate help for Duncan up front, the least they can do for him is allow him to finish out his career playing with Ginobili and Parker.
I didn't say it was a "fact", but I think it's pretty likely given his declining ability, bad knees, and the fact that the Spurs clearly need to enter full rebuilding mode sooner rather than later.

Sadly, Tim is pretty much done as a force in the NBA. Sure, he can play on as long as he likes, and he might play for two more years on a 10m/yr contract like DRob did at the end, but we have to stop thinking of him as the cornerstone of the franchise because he can't carry the team any more. If he does stay, I hope he does the right thing and signs a cap-friendly contract in the understanding that we have to rebuild.

TP is being a big disappointment this season. I was sure that he was going to take a step to lead the team with an aging TD and Manu .Instead he's playing worse than ever.

Right now it seems there is no chance to rebuilt around him so I don't mind if we trade him next year.

But this season He's who has to lead the team. He's the youngest of the big3.He should be in his prime. We are done if Tony can't play again like he used to do.
Its still early in a hectic season, but Tony has been a huge disappointment. And in this league loaded with length and athletic guards, his decline is very noticeable and significant.

At least he's getting assists without turning over the ball like crazy ala Grizz

Nice assets won't transform us into contenders so my point remains.
