I caught some of the summer league game vs Philly last night. I'm sold on LCJ making the roster.
Sorry but has Williams made 1 clutch playoff 3 pointer in his life?

Parker/Mills
Green/Manu/Williams
Kawhi/Anderson/LJC
Aldridge/Diaw/Bonner
Duncan/West/Dalembert (hopefully)
we'll add another vet at either the 1 or the 3. Preferably the 1.
No but he very well will have the chance this year.
How well did he defend p&r and on the wing?
Thanks for not putting West at Center. The minutes covering for Tim at the 5 will be interesting. I'm guessing small ball with various 4's including LMA moving over. Cady, LVC, and Bertrans could serve a purpose for sure.
He moves pretty well for such a long dude but what most caught my eye was his shot blocking. He blocked/contested every ing shot in the bit I watched.
They cannot carry Mulitinov if they're going to carry Jean-Charles and/or Lalanne. We currently have 4 bigs that can be trusted, and if all those three made the team, we would be left with 4 bigs that can be trusted.
I agree with Chinook that Jean-Charles and Lalanne are probably making the team, because if the Spurs cut them they probably get picked up by another side. Don't think there's a big incentive for them to go play in Europe. That said, they are both in suits all year. The team would still need a center that Pop can throw at playoff bigs for 10 minutes a night. Forget Mulitinov this year.
That would leave two roster spots, which should be a combo guard (Wolters/Bertains mold) and a 3&D wing.
Does Jean-Charles require a buyout from Tony Parker's team ASVEL?
Lalanne has to agree to being stashed overseas otherwise the guy is a free agent. If Spurs sign him, they could pay him next to nothing.
My point with Lalanne is that I think he'll either be on the team or the Spurs will lose his rights. If he refused to go overseas and the Spurs cut him, I think he gets picked up by another NBA team. Not sure there's a big incentive for him to agree to a stash. This of course is all provided he continues to show promise in the summer league and doesn't fall flat on his face.
I believe LJC does have a buyout but it's minimal. In the $600K range and the Spurs can pay up to $500K of that if I'm not mistaken.
Why wouldn't the Spurs keep LJC protected by his buyout for another year? He doesn't look ready and playing time should be a priority.
We need youth and athleticism, so LJC is a lock but who else?
So what's his deal - is he on a SL roster? Literally have heard nothing about him since that stint in NO
I could live with Withey, but I hope the Spurs at least gauge the interest that Larry Sanders has of returning. I mean, dude had great numbers off the bench with the Bucks and was second in blocks for the NBA the following year. Yes, he has some sort of mental illness, but so did Jackson, and we made it work.
Don't the Spurs have some superstars waiting in the wings overseas? I know I've seen a number of church-raisings at Spurstalk over the years and I think we need to call some of these studs home. Here is my proposed superstar lineup with additions bolded:
Parker/Mills/Darius Washington, the Hero of the Battle with the Baron
Green/Ginobili/Vassilis Spanoulis, The Greek T-Mac
Leonard/Anderson/James "Flight" White!
Aldridge/West/Diaw/Pops Mensah Bonsu, The Mythical Beast
Duncan/Sergei Karaulov, International Draft Pick of Mystery
Additionally, I think we should cut Kyle Anderson and sign Jackie "Heavy Paper" Butler
Make it happen front office! Call all of these studs home!!
PG: Boris Diaw
SG: Kawhi
F: West
PF: Albridge
C: TD
You are forgetting the one and only JAMES GIST!
Dude. Viktor Sanikidze and Robertas Javtokas.
If only we had kept Ian Mahinmi, imagine how mediocre he'd be.
Javtokas if not for the motorcycle accident, would've been in SA. Damn talented player
So many options! I didn't want it to purely be a list of random forgotten overseas assignees. Although, Sanikidze is interesting. Remember, he came over for a summer league once upon a time and actually looked pretty good. Well, his game looked good. I remember he looked like a homeless begger pulled off the Vegas streets and asked to ball.

I remember those two (and Karaulov) as the ones immediately following Ginobili and Scola, when we thought literally anyone the FO picked would turn out diamonds.
The rumor with Karaulov was that the Spurs never even watched him play and just drafted him on a rumor and a recommendation.
Wow...Sanikidze looks terrible. Please tell me these are photoshopped or something....
