Blows my mind how quick ST is to cry after a meaningless SL loss.

Clearly, Blake isn't a true PG but he's getting reps in that spot to see if he can develop those skills. I get that its hard to not just on him. And constantly complain about needing a PG as if they can never acquire one down the road.

ST being whiny and complaining like usual.
Oh , did you see how well Black played? Looked like an instant all-star! Gonna be a walking triple double! And Amen and Cason are absolutely god-like too. We really ed the duck on this draft man.

OMG I almost forgot K George. They played him at point guard and got like 38 points and 10 assists. This was the year of the point guard!

Hey LJ. let me help you with grades.

Branham F. How do you keep shooting down the stretch when you are shooting six percent and the guy over there calling for it is Wemby?

Coach F. How do you have branham in the game to keep chucking concrete bricks at that point in the game.

Let's be honest. We all thought and wanted to see the kid hit the game winner but some hack scrub from ohio state ducked it up.
Pretty much this. That was the dumbest 3 minutes of Spurs basketball. Which was weird - they’re usually the smartest guys in the room. Even Doris Burke called it out. Anyway. - good game.

I don’t why some are acting like emotional women over pointless summer league games .

Victor is really good. Branham is still good. Move on and go to sleep.

He really reminds me of Stanley Johnson.
Luckily for Sidy, he got drafted by a franchise known to develop players.
If he develops a solid three ball, we got a potential all-defense guy on our hands.
Cissoko-Sochan-Wemby would be aan amazing defensive trio.

Wasn't Branham the guy that scored 17/5/3/1 last game with 4-7 3PM?

I agree that Bran hasn't looked great overall but he took over a SAC game too and there is a ton of potential going forward. 32 points on 50% 2FG & 50% 3FG at the Laker game and was pretty unstoppable for a stretch in the 2nd half.

Maybe Bran was at the blackjack table all night cause there are other SL games where he shows a lot of promise. He's coming off the bench regular season and can pick his moments against backups. Should be much to show in that manageable of a role, he'll be fine.

The fanbase has definitely become needlessly 'doom and gloom' and myopic after the Nephew fiasco.

I think all fanbases are a lot dumber online in general.

I can't find any great Spurs - related content online (minus LJ's articles) without it delving into moronic 'hot take' territory.
I beg to differ....Game threads have always been hysterical and "cliff jumping fiestas, but that's in every fan base and every sport...

This board has a lot of quality threads with educated takes from people who know what they're talking about, even if you don't always agree with them, including Timvp who defintely, as he should and should be our guest, read and use that some of that content for his articles.

Although I don't remember seeing you a lot (if any) in these threads, nor in the board entirely during that tanking year... But feel free the to bring the good takes. As far as social media are concerned, I'm barely going there since they don't offer the coditionsr to really develop arguments and are more about attention and validation, with trendy/popular takes where people barely read 20% of the content whose life span is extrelmey lmited. You come 5 minutes too late, and people are already onto simething else. You have to read everything here.

We did a horrible job defending Devoe and Sharpe. Those two absolutely abused us.

Our big two in the SL go 2-23 on the night. Wemby and Barlow came to play. Cissoko had a solid game. Wesley played well and 0 turnovers.

    Now, on to Tuesday night.

Sooo when does Barlow contract get signed? Looking forward to seeing what he can do in regular season
You're going to be pissed like most here were last year with Bassey, and for the same reason: He's going to be signed to a 2way until a roster spot opens up around the trade deadline, and then he will be converted. Spurs won't want to throw away all of the ending contracts that they can monetize.

The stupidity of those here demanding that a scoring wing stop shooting down the stretch of a meaningless summer league game. This is the exact place where you would freely shoot out of a bad game. We'd never see him do something like that in a regular season game so enough with the disingenuous takes. I'm certain there is much to be learned from Branham watching the game tape and that alone was probably worth having to sit through such a tough outing.

    Wesley has Parker-esque speed though
There's fast, and there's fast with the ball. The second is extremely rare. Oh, and people also said Parker wasn't a PG, and he's going into the HOF this year.

Particularly Branham had a productive rookie year and generally good summer league with the exception of this one game but that doesn’t stop some face on a forum from losing his and demanding he be cut.
Branham had a pretty good rookie season but he has no business running the point, if he improves his defense he'll be a starting caliber 2.

Can someone tell me who is actually coaching the Spurs, not sure i've ever seen him before.
Former Austin Spurs coach Matt Neilsen, who was promoted to the big club as an assistant last year. It's good company, since both Quin Snyder and Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins also coached Austin.

Or even a spark off the bench. I certainly don't see him as a starting pg. Nor Blake. But I do see some advantages to giving both those guys heavy minutes at the pg spot in games that don't mean anything or developmental games. Gaining perspective from that position is valuable. Learning the flow of the game, general primary ball handling and setting up the offense from the point are all things that would translate to a well rounded SG position. I'm in total agreement with those that say we don't have our pg of the future so it makes sense to tackle it by committee until that day comes. I just think the calls to cut them is asinine.

I always laugh when I remember him freaking out on the team plane on a trip back from Denver after consuming too many edibles.
