“Trump just committed a crime, violating 18 USC § 595, prohibiting ‘a person employed in any administrative position’ from using ‘his official authority for the purpose of … affecting … the nomination or the election of any candidate for the office of President,’”
Congress passed the Hatch Act to “ensure that government authority is not used for political gain.”
She pointed to the president “improperly exploiting the White House” as part of his re-election campaign.
“It’s a crime for an executive branch official (including the President) to use official authority to affect a Presidential nomination of election, or to command a federal employee to engage [in] partisan political activity,”
Government watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) wrote that
the ceremony was “so obviously, blatantly, insultingly a Hatch Act violation
that it’s starting to seem like the Trump administration is going out of its way to find new ways to violate the law.”

Even taking away loopholes, Bezos makes too much money off his workers with only a 21% corporate tax rate and a lower cap gains tax rate.
Its always been a conservative position to focus on “loopholes” while ignoring the fact the rates are too ing low.
I was never a huge fan of Trump's massive tax cuts. It doesn't work long term when you still spend like Democrats which is what Republicans always do. Just reduce revenue and pop that bubble like in 08. You want to reduce taxes, then also reduce spending.
His tax cuts also did nothing to benefit the middle class. They made it so billionaires had a lower effective tax rate than working class Americans.
Raising taxes to where they were and also raising the cap gains tax rate up to the ordinary income tax levels would do a lot to balance the budget.
And nobody will do a damn thing about it. That's where we are.
