Then people would've ed about not getting the ball out of Dirk's hands.

Or he could've dribbled and kicked out to Terry and he hits a three.

You let the worst shooter on the team shoot the big shot.

    Period.
I wouldnt have ed about that. As long as he was being guarded even if he made it I would have been okay with that... leaving any player open is pathetic and stupid defense and the spurs are better than that... well they used to be. I dont think leaving any player wide open that is shooting a nice percentage at 3's is the smartest defense to play. But yeah whatever floats your boat man

The thing that stands out from this game is how slow Tim is. He is slower than Kurt, Bonner, Oberto and Dampier. Tim was the slowest guy on both teams. Every and any Maverick just drove right by Tim when he was isolated. Layup drill.
And this is THE REASON our defense is so bad.

His numbers are good, my problem with him is he lets guys that shouldnt even be on the floor push him around, like Bass....Dirk is a worthless post defender but Tim struggled against him, all season its been like this.

When hes on hes one, but miss a couple shots.....he starts playing soft, going timidly to the basket and starts shooting jumpers. He needs to go and be physical, want it more, show your team that you have the will to win! He has rarely done that this year thats my issue with him.
in short,Tim gets rattled easily and does not show a desire to win....

Not only was it a layup line, we were getting called for letting them get layups, or for daring to get in the way. At the other end Dampier is free to shove Duncan in the waist with his forearm (this apparently isn't a foul, Duncan gets this in most games with no calls) or out right knock him down without any problems.

It's bad enough they let Joey Crawford back in the league. It's a disgrace he's ever allowed to ref any Spurs games. 2 techs for laughing, game deciding no-call on Brent Barry in the Western Conference Finals, and games like this. I can't help but wonder what wonderful things that fat hairless troll has in store for us in this year's playoffs.

Even if everything were on the up-and-up, his history makes every call (or no call) questionable. The NBA is pathetic.

Yeah letting a 30% shooter in Jason Kidd shoot is a horrible idea.

Never heard of "rotations" have you.

You leave the worst shooter on the floor open to get the ball out of their best shooter's hands.

Don't quite understand that do ya eh genius.
Ever heard of slow rotations. You get back on your man after the rotation.

Duncan is averaging 20, 10.5, 4 assists..he's carried us most of the season..he had a bad game, I criticized him..but I have no idea why some of these dudes are criticizing him for his season performance..puzzling..
Because numbers never tell the whole story. If Duncan came into this season in the best shape of his career it isn't showing. Shaq at 37 and carrying 50+ more pounds than Duncan moves faster than TD, has better hops than TD, has better footwork and more offensive moves than TD. That's a in shame to me. Duncan is only 32 years old and he's the one playing like he's 37.

It's disappointing but I'm not too concerned about it.

The Mavs played their hearts out and the Spurs struggled on both ends and still the Mavs barely won.

I don't mean to take away from the Mavs because they won but they played their A game and the Spurs didn't.

Duncan was right there with Kidd.

He preffered Kidd to hit a tough 3.

Duncan made the right move. Learn the game.

Why the does Pop always play Finley against his old team? Damn Finley has his worst games against them. Then again why the does Pop even play the OLD bum period. He is over the hill and 3' under. One good game and then 3 bad games does not a champion make!

At least Gooden will give us some help in the paint. We had a Free Pass all night for the Mavs. Bring David Robinson back because our frontline stunk like crap tonight! But, Pop loves the old guys.
Yeah, I'm not sure why Pop stuck with Finley. He wasn't shooting well and didn't seem to play such great D. Is it just us? Did anyone else think Fin sucked?

Eh, Tim's compe iveness works a lot like Pop's. His main focus during the season is to keep improving, playing well individually, and making the team gradually better, which he does a lot (hence many wins over the years). During the playoffs, the in-game compe iveness takes front and center.

I think they know the problems but only a shot blocker is gonna solve most of them. I think the spurs are just gonna try to outscore teams and say the with D........at least for this year. If you look at it with gooden we could match LAs scoring.

I hope Ian will be able to play in the post season, I think he will and pops is keeping a lid on it for now, but if not I think we have enough if Manu is healthy and we shoot well.

Has anyone heard anything about Bynum? Leggler and Rose said the lakers are going on as if hes out for the year?

Wanted to make sure we all saw your post huh?

Look at this ing clown know as T-Park. You say you're a casual fan and don't take losses too hard, but that is at least the second time you've told someone in this thread to Kill themselves. WHAT IS THE REASON for telling someone to cause harm to themselves?

Tonight's loss is not a big deal. The Mavs just got a couple of shots here, a couple of shots there....no big deal...We are 2-2 on the season series with them. The Mavs actually played like they gave a tonight...
Not a big deal??? We could have gone 3-1 for the season and made them believe they were not good enough to play us in the playoffs. Now they feel like world beaters and everyone saw a slow and old looking Spurs team. We are losing way too damn many games we should be winning. Tim looks slower than frozen molasses going up hill. We are showing NO defense in the paint. We only have 3-4 guys that actually contribute on any given night. We are just not coming together as a team like in prior championship years. There is something not right about this years Spurs team...like no leadership & no confidence! It is gut check time for our guys and we'll see if they can step it up or not. Beating a lowly Clippers or Wizards team is NOT championship ball.

Yahoo says his stats are 40% for this year from 3. That's almost as bad as leaving Roger Mason wide open (though of course Mason is probably more clutch).

Well, what were the Lakers excuses when they lost to us? "Our key rotation players(Farmar, etc.) were out..." but hey, whatever it takes homie.
That's what you get for talkin' to fairweather Laker fans, homeboy. Any real fan of the game knows that you gotta come out and play every team despite injuries. Any real fan knows that the injury excuse is a very lame one because teams at full strength get beaten by lesser-equipped teams all the time. The Mavs won this game because of the Spurs poor rotation in the post. Dampier got the layup/dunk on Kurt and Kidd was wide open for 3 because of that poor rotation. The Mavs also played better than the Spurs defensively at the end of the game. Were it not for Parkers speed and ability to get to the rack, you'd be hard-pressed to name a possession in which the Spurs got an easy bucket. What Pop should've done is spread it out with Mason posted on the wing and let Tony drive and decide. Instead, he kept tryin' to run Mase off of the baseline and the Mavs switched nicely to ball-deny.

Ginobili or no Ginobili, the Spurs could've won this game.
Ginobili or no Ginobili, the Mavs outplayed the Spurs to earn a good win.

Injuries happen and the NBA season is a grind. Either you survive or you don't. But you do not use injuries as an excuse.

Please look at the stats and numbers and where the Spurs are as compared to the Suns who are in 9th place right now. Just forget it...sigh...go ahead and say more stupid things...we can always use more entertainment!
