Doesn't matter. The recount is triggered legally.
Gore unconceded in 2000, it's hardly unheard of. AFAIK a concession isn't legally binding.
Georgia gov still too close to call

He did but <.5% is an automatic recount
looks like GA-06 went to the gun control Democrat, Lucy McBath. The last time a Democrat represented the district was 1979.

possible ranked choice scenario to decide Senate race in Maine;
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...close-to-call/
- The Maine 2nd District will probably not be decided until next week. Several towns have yet to report their votes, but both Republican Rep. Bruce Poliquin and Democratic state Rep. Jared Golden appear to be stuck below a majority. If that holds, it means that Maine’s new system of ranked-choice voting will decide the winner. A computer program will redistribute the votes of the last-place finisher, independent William Hoar, among the other three candidates based on who those voters listed second on their ranked-choice ballots. If a candidate still doesn’t have the majority, the third-place finisher, independent Tiffany Bond, will then be eliminated, and her voters redistributed. At that point, either Poliquin or Golden will have a majority of the remaining votes, and whoever does will win the congressional seat. Golden is probably favored in this scenario; both Bond and Hoar indicated in a debate that they would prefer Golden over Poliquin (we’ll see if their voters agree). But it might not end there: If Poliquin ends up finishing first in the initial returns but loses the ranked-choice tabulations to Golden, he has left the door open to a court challenge.
Balancing the budget should be a bipartisan thing IMO. Raising SS age, trimming some fluffy veterans' benefits from the military, and some medicaid de-funding should all be practical steps. Maybe raise Medicare age to 70 as well considering people live longer?
not sure how i feel about that system, but its kinda fascinating
as of now they've turned, what, 30 house seats? and thats still not including CA-4, CA-25, UT-4, and NY-22 which are all likely flips at this point
Lmao just raise ing taxes and remove the SS earning cap on taxes. you guys crack me the up.
Don't know what your stance is on climate change and dont care about what it is but when it comes to that Rs are so blase "oh i could move the thermostat one or two degrees and not notice a difference!" But when it comes to social security which could just be fixed fiddling with the payroll tax a few percents you guys act like its some kind of unavoidable super meteor of death the size of Jupiter headed for us
“trim fluffy veteran benefits”
You can’t retrade veterans who risked their life and were told they’d get certain services afterwards. What about the hundreds of billions we spend every year on military that’s not VA related? Why don’t republicans ever want to cut that spending![]()
Missouri and Arkansas voted to raise the minimum wage.
https://www.epi.org/blog/voters-in-m...llion-workers/
min wages should be determined on a regional/municipal level imo... statewide might be fine in some places (would be awful in CA). national is even more absurd and out of touch
They should not raise any taxes on anyone filing under $250,000. But I do agree that there are too many deductions to make it easier to cheat the IRS when you're filthy rich and should be paying your fair share.
agreed... it's ridiculous to say the minimum wage should be federally $15 because millennials in SF and Seattle can't afford their rent... if Seattle wants to make it $15 or whatever that's fine... but making it federal law would turn places like kansas and idaho into abandoned wastelands and also encourage illegal labor.
It is remarkable how much Republicans vote in favor of Democratic values on ballot initiatives.
Dont forget three red states all voting to expand Medicaid.
Wasn't it like $6.50 or something, at least in Arkansas? Good riddance. That's ridiculous.
Corporations have used COL tables for decades, for adjusting the compensations of their employees posted away from home.
There's no reason Feds couldn't do the same, other than the totally bad-faith oligarchy preempting, denying, reversing any benefits, solutions, progress For The People.
Trash's so-called economic advisor (plays one on TV) says Fed minimum wage should be abolished. Other Repugs have said child labor laws should be abolished.
you say that, but people want to establish a nationwide $15/hr minimum wage. that has nothing to do with COL tables
Don't think republicans would turn down a box of free food a day for a month/year/whatever just because they're "conservative".
My theory is... there are probably about 5-7% more left leaning people than right leaning people in this country, counting everyone 18 and older, but they don't all vote that way because of various reasons... if every single individual in the country 18+ voted with their ideology, the map would look like Lyndon Johnson's in 1964:

I'm ambivalent about it too.
The main features seem to be that it guarantees the winner will receive a majority and that the runoff is instant.
Conservatives like liberal policies. They just don't like liberals.
One reason is because Democrats support a much more wide ranging spectrum and this leads to hypocrisy
A) We prefer no religion but we defend Muslims because they are a minority group
B) Jews must always be protected. But what about when they shoot Palestinians?
C) More social programs for our people! Oh and here's a Caravan, they also count
They also prioritize issues that decline in importance as you age (pick up responsibilities) such as environment, social justice, and gay rights. These are big issues for me in grade school not as an adult
tangentially, Fargo, SD voted for approval voting
https://ballotpedia.org/Fargo,_North...November_2018)
which is why millennials are very slowly trending to the right but it's a gradual process... but it will be more steady once they get married and have kids and such... the ones who never have families will most likely be life long liberals.
Yes, this is the natural progression. You get a career job, fall in love and start thinking of a family:: red pill time
