I hope none of them were named head or Abcde

I knew the sex, but never once did I think I was having girls. I just knew I would have boys before I had it confirmed.

My kids were both born within a day of their predicted due date. I wonder how often that happens.
My oldest was born on his due date! But it was an induction.

My oldest was born on her due date...naturally. It was the nurse's fault...it was late evening, we were filling out paperwork, she asked me when the due date was and I told her. She said "no one is born on their due date...I'll put tomorrow as the date of birth". I told her "don't do that...you've just guaranteed she'll be born tonight" (It was about 10 PM at this point)

Sure enough...11:29 pm was the official time.

When my daughter was coming we did all the Lamaze classes even though the wife was planning an epidural. Before it was time to administer it I was doing all that supportive stuff breathing with her etc. when a contraction hit...the nurse and I were telling her to breathe and she turned to me and said (this is someone that rarely cussed) "Oh shut up you sonofa ! You DID this to me, you mother er!"

It was a really touching birth scene...

I don't have any kids but do plan on having them but I was 4 days late and my mom was in labor oh roughly all 4 of those days.....they almost had the nurse on top of her getting ready to push me out but then there I was. My brother on the other hand......was born in the back of a Dr.Pepper truck. My dad wasn't home and my mom went into labor and decided to drive herself to the hospital. We were living in Kirby at the time so none of my family was close. Well the car decided that it didn't want to keep going anymore and just died on the road.....a Dr.Pepper truck was driving by and stopped to help her and then my brother popped out. Kinda funny actually....but we are only 15mths apart. It's kinda cool to have a sibling that close in age...it was fun growing up. Billy on the other hand was a pain in the ass from the start and is an only child.....lol. I hope to have 4 boys but I will settle for 2.....hopefully boys....lol.

My mom said that when I was being born, I came half way out and then went back in and the doctor had to pull me out.

I hope the five kids I want to have are more cooperative about being born.

I am not nervous about being in labor. If my sister can endure labor, anyone can.

...there's something very strange to me about how precisely everything is planned these days. Everyone I know that's had a child in the last five(ish) years has known the sex, picked a name, scheduled the induction...
It really is better not to be induced with Pitocin. There are ways to attempt to do it naturally- and some are fun!!

my ex-wife had to be induced with pitocin. the specialist we were seeing told us our daughter was out of room (my ex-wife is small)two weeks before the due date. it was a harrowing 17 hour ordeal. we got up to the max amount and little happened. As soon as they brought the dosage down she went into labor, which lasted 7 of those hours. She took no pain medication.

That's the problem with pitocin, it's great for contractions, but doesn't necessarily help dilation. As far as scheduled birthing, scheduled c-section is the way to go

I don't have kids, nor do I particularly want to, but there's something very strange to me about how precisely everything is planned these days. Everyone I know that's had a child in the last five(ish) years has known the sex, picked a name, scheduled the induction -- I guess I can see how it would make sense in terms of preparation, but it seems weird to make an appointment to have a baby.

I have a 7 month old daughter and I gotta tell ya, these are the absolute best days of my life. Each new day is better than the last. I could have the worst day or be in the worst mood and just one look/smile from my daughter and everything is right. One of the best pieces of advice I've been given...TAKE PICTURES....and when you think you've taken enough..TAKE MORE. You will never get these days/times with your baby back again so do as much as you can do to remember them. Oh and buy a video camera.
