My wife’s due date isn’t until the 13th but the last couple of times that we have gone to her appointment the doctor flipped because her blood pressure was high and so he sent us next door to the hospital. Well once we get there her blood pressure doesn’t seem to be so bad and after laying down for a while it goes down. I think the nurse at the doctor’s office doesn’t know how to read it because after we go to the hospital it’s not that bad. Of course we spend freakin 6 hours there waiting on results each time.
It’s killing me. We go again today and I swear I’ll punch him if he says “Today might be the day” again . Yes I am anxious. I want to see what she looks like and if she has one facial feature in particular of mine (which I hope she doesn’t). Oh well we go in at 11.
On a side note, last time we went we were in a room that held two patients and the woman next to us was a pain in the ass. On that day my wife hadn’t eaten since the afternoon before and was starving and when they reeled in that other lady we had already been there for a few hours. She comes in and as soon as the nurse asks how she is doing she starts ing about how hungry she is. They asked her when she ate last and she said she had a tea at 2. The nurse said ok but when did you EAT? Then she said oh breakfast. Well after that the nurse had to check her by sticking her fingers in the cootch and I swear the lady made it sound like it was the worst feeling in the world. My wife says yes it’s uncomfortable but it’s only two fingers. Then we started to laugh because the stupid lady was saying “No stop! It hurts! Please stop!” My wife said her husband must be smaller than her pinkie.
After all that the nurse sent her home and said she seemed fine and nothing was out of the norm.

I have 3 kids, all I can say is that the second pregnancy was MUCH less stressful than the first. Around the time of the first one I was ready to just try heroin in order to calm down.

This is her second. So I am hoping it's easier for her too.
She says so far it's been alot better. No bed rest this time.

It's tough, I know all you want to do is see that little sucker come out and make sure everything is operational and functioning, waiting for the actual birth is just nerve racking.

I had to jump the nurse when my son was born. She just handled the baby with her fingers like he was a twinkie.

"dammit lady hold him high and tight....up above that flabby chest of yours. He just got here and I can't have you fumbling him in the first quarter..... !!!!"

That's what I'm afraid of. I am having a girl and I already think that everything is going to hurt her. Then those nurses are all numb to everything and have done it so much that they just fling the babies around like nothing OK i need to stop I am hyperventilating

If babies were really that fragile most of them would die during birth. They're not. Be cool.

It could be maybe your wife gets a little anxious when she goes to the doctor's office and the blood pressure reading reads high, but when she goes to the hospital she is more relaxed. Who knows? The good thing is that she is okay.

I have enjoyed the past month with my newborn. He is something else. Its a lot of work, but fun at the same time. I hope everything turns out good for you and your wife. Keep us updated.

she is going to come out looking like an alien but they manage to transform in a matter of seconds. Her head is going to be cone shaped and she will be a light purple color. Its the greatest to be there when your kid is born. Also make sure to cut that cord like a man damn it, don't be scared !

that went through my mind for a split second but I got over it and snipped it. Then they took my son to weigh him and I walked over to him and he was laying there calm then he sneezed and scared himself. He jumped so high it was pretty funny. He is only 4 but I tell him that story all the time.

I didn't get to cut the cord. Little ASF had it wrapped around her neck, so the doc did it. My little one did everything she could to avoid coming out into the world. Must have been nice in Mrs. ASF's belly!

Any of you men out there have sympathy pains (at least I think that's what it's called) when your wife was pregnant?

On my wife's last pregnancy I started to get actual morning sickness. I would be on my way to work and have to pull over to throw up! I had no idea what was happening, at first I thought I had a bug of some kind that was making me sick, but no fever or anything else to go along with it.

It lasted for about 2 months and then gone......very strange.

Mine are 11 and 14, both delivered by C-section. I never had problems with high BP, but I did have gestational diabetes with both.

And about the lady ing b/c she was hungry....I went into labor early on the morning of my last dr appointment, so when I went in, he told me to go home and wait until the contractions were closing before going to the hospital and he told me not to eat anything. So I go to my sisters on the way home and she had just ordered a bunch of Chinese food and I got to sit there and watch everyone eat.

Then when we finally went to the hospital and got all set up in the room. My sisters and their hubbies come in to see me (I had a private room that had a sitting area in one half of the room) they brought in freaking Taco Cabana and ate it in the room while I crunched on ice chips.

I hadn't eaten since 7 pm on Wednesday and the baby was born at 9:35 am Friday. I was STARVING!!!
