One of the things I hated about living in Austin was how liberal it was. Alot of stuff just went too far.
    Suits me just well!

Yeah my life is really comfortable. My parents who I was living with until recently lost our home to foreclosure in March. I'm currently ten thousand dollars in debt in my first year at UTSA. Yeah it's a really comfortable life.
My parents never had enough money to ever buy a house. I made 22k when I was a student, paying my own way and also helping to pay my parents rent. I worked mornings at a job related to my field, went to class in the afternoons, worked nights and weekends washing dishes at a mexican restaurant. Occasionally I slept. So cry me a river.

Give me a break. I'm humble to know that even with all that ....a foreclosed house and being buried in debt, I know I have it good. In fact I have it great. And I never about any taxes I have to pay. You would think someone who can afford to pay 46 thousand dollars to the government in 1 ing year could be the same way.
First, your not paying any federal income tax so how could you complain? Second, humility is not thinking your better than anyone else. Has nothing to do with wanting to pay higher taxes. My wife and I are humble and grateful for our lives but we have what we have by working hard. No one gave it to us.

Like I said maybe he phrased it wrong and he meant to say something else. But if he's making enough money where he has to pay 46 grand in taxes a year...he has no right to complain about getting the "bad deal"
Who complained about getting a bad deal. I didn't vote for a guy who swears he wants to stick to me. Would you?

You're young, you go to school and work part time. I'm old (well older) and work 70 hours a week and study more than I ever did in school to continue to improve my skillset. You whine about not having a "comfortable life". I'm working to get to a point where I can have a comfortable life. So you might think you deserve a bigger slice of my pie but all I can tell you is stop whining, work harder, get another job, and help your parents out you little er.

Ketih -- take your mocha colored glasses off ... Look at the polls and the ridiculous % of the black vote Obama has wrapped up.

No question the W years will contribute to McCain's loss. Bush was terrible on spending, never caught Bin Laden, and is terrible on the border. The fence should have been done a long time ago.
Obama is basically Johnny Cochran and if McCain had half a brain and wasn't a socialist himself -- he would be talking more and more about Jeremiah Wright and the black liberation theology.

I will just sit back and wait until 2012 and hope for Romney / Palin or if he proves to be who he says he is -- give me Bobby Jindal.
Something like 80-85% of blacks ALWAYS vote with Democrats. So since that figure is now at 95% of blacks will vote Obama, it can be said that about 10% of blacks will vote for Obama based on skin color ALONE.

10%... how is that such a "ridiculous" percentage?

What would you consider the percentage of whites voting for McCain because he's white? Not voting for Obama because he's black?

    I'd guess it's around 10%, probably a little less.

I saw reports that said Bush got about 18-20% of the black vote in 2004 - so if your numbers are correct and so are the ones for Bush 2004 - then Obamam has about a 15% increase.

Now the trick would be to figure out how much of the white vote McCain has compared to the usual numbers a republican candidate can expext to receive from whitey.

Then we can look at the HIspanic vote too -- I saw something saying that Bush got something like 40% in 2004. Not sure how accurate that is...

Here's why Repugs and Fox and right-wingers tell and repeat incessantly BIG SLIMEY LIES.

    dumb s believe those lies.

Poll finds 23% of Texans think Obama is Muslim

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6084678.html
and I bet nearly all 23% of those Texans will not vote EVER for a Muslim just because the Muslim is a Muslim, which is racism.

Obviously you can't say that Texas is racist... but are many of its inhabitants racist?

    You 'betcha.

When I was in high school a group of my friends all worked at Grady's on Bandera. They would always tell stories of being rude to blacks and spitting/sneaking pubes in their food.

With no scientific data to back me up, I'd say 5% are overtly racist, another 15% covertly racist, and EVERYONE else believes in certain stereotypes that are negative.

I've never known a black person who didn't smoke weed. That's a fact that I live with. No doubt not all blacks smoke weed, but in my universe all of them do.

Most white people I know can't dance.

Most hispanics I know are lazy after eating (myself included).

YES WE CAN! It was scientifically proven by Dave Chappelle and John Mayer and televised globally on the Chappelle show.

    Good point.

    Hard to argue with that.
