Yes but not in the way you think. South Texans are racist against whites and negritos and North Texans hate everyone that isn't white. Just depends where you live.

My wife's family from Mexico originally (now living in San Antonio) didn't like me at first because I was a gringo. They've warmed up to me, thankfully though. I'm spreading equality!
Yes Texas is clearly racist. I know I voted against Obama because of the color of his skin. The fact that I don't want to pay more than the 46k I currently pay in fed income tax had nothing to do with it.

Being half-black will definitely help Obama bringing the black vote to him, but last I checked they're a minority and not enough to win the election.
If he wins, you should start pointing fingers at the disastrous 8 years of dubya as the main reason for the results.
Eh... There's certainly an element of the vote that will be affected by white racists, but the degree is uncertain. For one thing, if they're Republican, they probably wouldn't have voted for the Democrat anyway. Also, there are some white supremecists who are hoping for an Obama victory because they think it will unite whites. Once you also factor in the hillbilly dumbasses who don't know how to vote any more than they know how to read, the white racist bloc is such a cluster that it probably balances out.

No question the W years will contribute to McCain's loss. Bush was terrible on spending, never caught Bin Laden, and is terrible on the border. The fence should have been done a long time ago.
Obama is basically Johnny Cochran and if McCain had half a brain and wasn't a socialist himself -- he would be talking more and more about Jeremiah Wright and the black liberation theology.

One of the things I hated about living in Austin was how liberal it was. Alot of stuff just went too far.
Not enough to win the election. He needs more than racial votes to pull this off. The sooner you acknowledge this, the quicker we'll move on.
