What the was Sacramento thinking? Stojakovic isn't a guy to build a team around because he does nothing well besides shoot and he is a notorious choker in the playoffs. I know Webber has that rep, but he put up huge numbers in that series with LA and ofthen was the only person doing for them (see the 2nd half of game 4). Webber made that team what it was and he didn't deserve to get done like that for some crybaby shooter.

At the same time, I'm very excited about this trade. I'm a huge AI fan and I've hated seeing him busting his ass for a team that's not ready to make a move right now. I've never respected any of the rest of Sac's core anyways, except for its point guards (Jackson and Bibby). The Kings just bolted their window of opportunity shut and I don't see how they're ever going to become good again.

    RIP Sacramento Kings

First Christie, now C-Webb. Strange times.
Older players. Big contracts. Do the math.

    AI
    Iggy
    Korver
    Webber
    Dalambert

That's gonna be a fun team to watch.
Agreed, especially in our weak division.

What's sad is that those three sent to the Kings matchup identically to CWeb salary wise after Kenny's trade kicker, for the same # of years.

I also want to add that all the talk around Philly was if a trade was made it would be to either Minn Robinson for Spreewell or a package that included one of their young guards, especially Willie Green.

This is totally out of the blue and the local sport talk here is going nuts, talking about a possible East le run - that probably overboard but this will at least keep AI happy and this team could make it to the semis and test any of the 3 supposed elite with now a true 2nd star on team potentially.

    Time will tell.

IMO, Webber will turn into another Glenn Robinson for the Sixers. He'll be a dead weight contract before too much longer.
Then they are truly ed with two contracts like that polluting their cap space. But in my mind anyway Webber is worth more than Corliss Williamson, Brian "I sucked at Baylor" Skinner, and Kenny Thomas.

I guess we should be happy. One weapon sent out of conference.

Yeah, this wasn't a money move. It was just to keep Peja happy and in Sacramento.

Webber is the most underrated player in the league. 21.3, 9.7, and 5.5 per don't lie. Throw in a steal and a half and 80% from the line too. He's not Webber circa 2000, but he's still a top 15 player.

Philly should've tried to add Robinson/Green for Mobley+ or something else. Sacto comes off a bit eager in this deal.

    Cherce quotes from KingsFans.com:

My god this sucks.......just shoot me now. Peja, you better get over your bruised uterus and get your wimp *** back on the court.
Uh, WHY? I could understand if it was for expiring contracts, but it's not. And they don't even get Dalembert in the deal?
this isnt a "Hum" trade in the least. its a screaming a the top of your lungs "what the **** are you doing" kinda trade.
WHAT????? Let me breath... and finish my dinner OMG this is not good at first glance
This is the worst day in the history of basketball!!!
I can't believe we got Corliss back. This trade SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! Guess Petrie gave up on the season. Dammit....why didn't they do this before I paid for my playoff tickets.
i have the worst headache EVER right now

    god help us
i cant believe kings management would jsut give up on this season like that. i mean, god....i dont even have words to describe how angry i am. i've never been for trading webber, cuz i've always been about whats best for the team. and if trading webber happens to be best for the team, then i'm for it....but not for these 3 schmucks. we absolutely do not get better in this trade, and that makes me sooo angry i could ****ing spit.
I'd rather just trade Webber without getting those players!!!!
i can just hear all of the basketball nation laughing at us
It cant be something with Webbers knee... He still has to pass the physical... This is absolutely di ible... HE chose Peja over Webber, that is the bottom line... JESUS... KENNY THOMAS?! CORLISS WILLIAMSON!!!!! WTF!!!
Well I just exercised my season ticket holder privilege and ripped Geoff a new one in an email I sent off.
I can't STAND Shaquille O'Neal, but he hit it on the nose when he said a couple of years ago that if the Kings didn't keep Webber, they would go back to "Expansionism".

It was thought that nobody in the league would touch Webber other than the Knicks. Everyone knows how close he is to an injury disaster.

I've watched him play a lot this season and although he's putting up the stats, he has no lateral movement and his quickness is gone. He's turned into a deadly spot up shooter who can rebound some and pass really well, but also remember that is the Kings' system. They feature the bigmen and make them look like great passers.

Divac, Webber and BMiller are all good passers, but not the Magic Johnson level passers the Princeton Cut offense would make it seem.

Webber and Divac made that offense what it was. You could see that it wasn't running as well without Divac and now with Webber gone they should scrap that. Miller isn't half the passer Webber is.

God no. They have to get another big man there with a quickness. They're not done.

I just think its nice that AI finally has a bonafied star on the team after all these years and someone to share the burden. Give Kyle Korver a few years to develop and the rookie AI, Sixers finally have a good team, especially in the weak east.

Last year they were pretty much the same in APG and this year it's Webber at 5.5 and Miller at 3.9.

    Pretty close.

    P.S.

Greg Ostertag is averaging like 2.5 assists per 48 minutes playing the bigman role in that offense and even led the team in assists in a game against the Spurs.

Ah, forgot about Josh Davis and Bradley, but I still think the other shoe might drop tomorrow (GRob).
