Don't feel bad guys. lakers gettin blown out by the queen. The mavs take it to double OT against a fully healthy spurs team, lakers getting blown out by one of the worst teams in the league. .

I'd rather lose a 2OT game to the Spurs than get blown out by say... the Grizzlies... but that's just me.
Unfortunately in your limited Mavs homer world, you don't realize that getting blown out by the Grizz is the anomaly that shouldn't be taken seriously, it's losing at home in a double-OT to a possible playoff matchup where you see the real problems with the team.

Dirk missing free throws, Kidd tipping in Duncan's miss, and Dirk missing a layup are anomalies too. It's arguable that if one of these things is achieved, teh Mavs win the game. The Mavs are capable of any of those, but if JUST one of those occured suddnely you'd be satisfied, but that none occured (amongst other things) you see a slew of problems with this team? You can't go by W's and L's sometimes, the quality of the basketball should be relevant too.

Each game is an individual unit, that's something you don't seem to graps.

and I'll pass on the Mavs looking like they're going to push it to a Game 7 and get Dirk back, only for Steve freakin Kerr to take a dump all over that dream.
That was a good game, one of my favorites of all time. I still remember jumping up and down and going nuts when he hit all of those, along with SJax nailing two in a row. I get goosebumps everytime I watch that fourth quarter.

But yeah, I guess one more Mavs-Spurs series wouldn't hurt

    Dirk missing free throws
    oh like this anomaly?

this a team with, in my opinion, championship-caliber talent, that makes so many mental errors and poor choices with the ball during crunch time, it's maddening. It starts at the top with Dirk and trickles down from there. Maybe you'd rather bury your head in the sand and think these things won't happen the next time around, but they will because they always do. And even if we all know it's coming, it doesn't mean we have to accept it. So don't come at me with this "I'm a good fan cuz I wave my pompoms" bull because you got no idea.

true. It was nice to see a little bit of the old Mavs-Spurs trash talking going on in the Spurs forum, but it's better when we team up and all over Rockets fans instead

I think it's funny watching the Mavs fans and Rockets fans talk Very entertaining. And yeah it was nice to see some of that return, but it wasn' tnearly as bad as it was in 2006. This board was insane.

Your definition of a good fan is being a troll who comes on a spurs board to whine about the Mavs problems everytime they lose a game, even though you think the leader is a "vagina" and yet are disappointed with the results?

You're actually an irrational fan. You whine and whine and whine, even though in your own mind you don't expect different results.

And yes, the way Dirk has shot FT's this year going 3/5 is somewhat of an anomaly. You know that, don't try to be cunning about it cause you're not.

Like I said, troll... and where the did you get the idea that the Mavs have championship talent? No shooting guard or low post scorer for all these years, and our franchise player is a "vagina" according to you. Last I checked, vaginas don't win championships.

You fail to realize that it's an 82 game season and that each game is an individual unit. A December 2OT loss against the Spurs does not reveal anything about how the Mavs would matchup against the Spurs come playoff time. If it does, why can't we consider our 17 point November win against the Spurs as well?

W/E , I'm going to bed. Mavs are 9-2 in last 11 games, I can't complain. I guess CHEERING for my team instead of whining and belittling its players makes me a blind homer.

Cheering for your team and making excuses for them are two very very different things. The sooner you figure that out the sooner you'll be taken seriously, you're entering a mavsfan1000 level of insanity.

where did I make an excuse for tonight's loss? I just said I wasn't that upset about it.

and you know the latter is not true, Mavsfan1000 is on record saying Josh Howard is the best player on the Mavs. You're just backpedaling son. I have mentioned by concerns w/ the Mavs time and again this year, but that doesn't mean I am gonna cry like a little after every loss just to get attention.

I know what the Mavs problems are, but tonight revealed no new problems. So why should I be upset? The play of the bench lately, in particular Barea, has been encouraging.

Do other Mavs fans on here take this guy seriously? I think he is trollsauce.

Actually you said there was no reason to be upset, and that all the mistakes were anomalies (in other words, an excuse).

Just saying, we could've easily won this game tonight with a few lucky bounces so there's no reason to be upset about this particular game.

Whether the Mavs won or lost this game, the problems we've exhibited throughout the year still would have existed. Our offense stagnates, our defense is good but not great/inconsistent , Jason Terry/JHo don't feel like 2/3 options on a legitimate championship contender, we're not great in any aspect of the game (D, R, O, getting to FT line, 3-PT shooting)etc.

those things upset me about our beloved Mavs, but tonight's game does not.

Don't see what's insane or homeristic about that.

Another 'moral win' and 'we were supposed to lose anyways' thread. Anyways, I thought the Mavs gave it all they got and it wasn't enough. We got outrebounded and shot like crap for a good portion of the game, plus were not that great defensively but still managed to win on the road.
Great win for us... One last thing: How can you possibly be a fan and not get upset when you lose a game like this? I was fuming when TP and Manu went one on one at the end of regulation/1st OT, and when TP missed the free throw after the flagrant... I thought those plays could cost us the game, and I'm sure there was similar plays on the Mavs side (like the Barea J in 2nd OT)

Let's see, cause it's ing December and the team has won 9 of its last 11 games?

AND Josh Howard was out. I refuse to believe this team is WORSE with Josh Howard. His effect might be little, but keep in mind if Howard is playing Devean George is not playing. That alone, is an upgrade.

And even in defeat, we did a lot of good things. Barea's penetration, creativity around the rim, and passing is a sight for sore eyes. That to me is improvement, as nobody expected Barea to play like this. Whether or not it is just a flukish 6-7 game stretch or a sign of things to come, we'll see. But certainly gives me reason to be optimistic, does it not?

I'm obviously not pleased with the outcome, but I don't feel terrible about it either. The worst I've felt about a Mavs loss this year was the 3rd game against the Cavs where we got blown out. That was pretty humbling.

The west is just too compe ive to be giving up games on nights when your team shots and rebounds better than the compe ion.

Breath will get his minutes at the expense of Wright, or somebody else. It's obvious your coach loves him. And JHo only shows up for the first half, sometimes only for the 1st quarter. I think Carslile noticed Barea shows up in the 4th quarter, and had to push back JHo's recovery.

And even in defeat, we did a lot of good things. Barea's penetration, creativity around the rim, and passing is a sight for sore eyes. I 'm actually more pissed off when we lose a close game, especially if we wasted away a big lead. That normally means the focus was lost, or the defense slacked or execution was poor down the stretch. Blowouts normally indicate we have a bad shooting night, and there's not much you can do as a team about that. The winnable games that slip away are the ones that come bite you in the ass at the end of the season...

Mavs played a great game. Dirk is a beast but too many minutes for him. Kidd has also impressed me and Barrea... wow... during 10 mn he blows the spurs alone.
Question: is it possible to imagine Barrea as a starter and kidd coming from off the bench ?

This was a game that J-Ho was needed whether he shows up or not in the 4th. Against the Spurs, Bowen is usually matched up with him and that leaves guys like Finley, Parker, Udoka to have to be matched up against Terry, which would favor the Mavs.

What sucks about games like these is when they go to Double OT. All that effort for an L. And as El Nono pointed out, ordinarily you wouldn't get too down about these losses, but it's a divisional game, and the West is once again going to be a game of musical chairs with 9 worthy teams fighting for 8 spots.
