i believe it will be hard to get advertising on a radio station of this sort in a military town.
No. Why listen to idiots when I can listen to Jimi?
i believe it will be hard to get advertising on a radio station of this sort in a military town.
i tuned in a couple hours ago and caught some of the phil hendrie show, man it was strange. there was some 17 year old military academy guy as a guest saying how its "tradition" for navy and marine people to travel to tiajuana to catch the "donkey show" where a woman has sex with a donkey on stage for all the military men. i was like WTF??? thats all i heard today though.
oh , they have phil hendrie on there? I may tune in.
BTW, Phil Hendrie's show isn't real. It's a paradoy, but there are so many people that don't understand that and call in and thats what makes it funny.
Phil Hendrie rocks.
When is he on?
I'm a HUGE Hendrie fan. His show is hilarious. Don't know that I would call it 'progressive' though. It's just comedy. WOAI had him on nights for a long time.
But honestly, I think a lot of the 'regular people callers' aren't really oblivious to Hendrie's fic ious characters. I think they are really part of the show too. When you listen to show as much as I have, you start to notice all of the 'regular people callers' all say the same kinds of things...
I think the show actually phones people and solicits volunteers to be honest. I don't know how they do it, but after you listen to the show long enough, you just start to realize that even the 'regular' folks are in on the gig.
But now that I've heard the snoozer morning guy on the "regressive radio revolution", Hendrie is going to be the flagship.
Anyway, do any of you Hendrie fans have any favorites? Two that come to my mind was the one where he has two Veterans on the show, one for WWII and one from Korean War (Both Hendrie)..and when the Korean vet mentions his participation in the Korean War, the WWII vet says, "Well, we can't all be heros" and the Korean Vet goes ballastic. The whole premise was that Korean Vets are second class heros...and they go on....it was classic.
The other one was Hendrie as some head of an organization whose aim was to sterilize Texas Longhorn fans. He felt that it was long overdue and that soceity needed to be rid of Longhorn fans, so he was making a push for the sterilization of Longhorn fans.
Hendrie is a mastermind of thinking up the zaniest scenarios and premises.
Smart of Lundy to include Hendrie on this channel.
I listened to it only sporadically...the timing was inconvenient for me. But when I did listen, that whacked-out broad with the (sounded like a) redneck husband (their names escape me...but they were the homeowners association president/wife)...well, ANY day they were on was a good day.
Using those two, Hendrie actually did an "SUVs are horrible...but I really need mine" show...
Those characters are on quite a bit. They ARE hilarious. I remember a number of good shows with them...the husband is classic, the he blurts out.
All the major characters are on his website, let me go track it down...
Damn, Wikipedia has it all. Hendrie's own website used to have all the characters but doesn't now. Wikipedia saves the day again.

Oh , she's just as bad...she just tries to couch it in "genteel" language...
I tried to go to his site...but the wonderful filter slammed the door shut...
Thanks for the Wikipedia link!
Steve and Bobbie Dooley were who I was talking about...
Other routines I've heard include Jay Santos (Citizens Auxiliary Police), Ted Bell, and Vernon Dozier.
Wow, I never knew that.and throughout 2004 frequently mentioned that he backed the re-election of President Bush because of his handling of the war.
I didn't know he'd actually voted for him...but I do remember him ripping Kerry and the Democratic Party a new one on a regular basis...and it was usually done from the standpoint of being "a lifelong liberal"...
So did you hear the morning guy this morning Trav?
Dude, I almost drove off the road![]()

But admittedly Bill Bennett on KLUP is also a good sleep aid.
Shouldn't they put hosts on in the morning who have a little more zing? What the ?![]()
No, I haven't tuned in yet...I figure I have this board topiss me off, why add something new?

Speaking of evil SUV's, Stephanie Miller on her show yesterday very hastily and under her breath admitted to owning an SUV... because she has dogs...
Whatever.
Where's the fun in that? I listen to conservative talk radio to get some guffaws in daily. I tuned in for awhile and I too heard to donkey show caller.
sweet man they can have jeff bolton, rush, sean hannity, and schnit show
and that other station will be me going awol all day
need to update resume
hey Kori Ellis have you ever read a mookie post?
Listened some to 92.5 tonight, and overall I was fairly impressed. Phil Hendrie is on from 6?-9 and is always good for a few laughs even if he tends to lean a little more to the right than the progressive audience the station is probably intended for. Lionel, who could be heard on OAI Saturdays from 5-8, then takes over from 9-12, and as most of you who read my posts already know, I am a Lionel fan. The mans got a good head on his shoulders. Then Sean Hannity's liberal lapdog, Alan Combes is on from 12-3. Overall, a fairly impressive line-up, but watch out! The commercials seem to come fast and furious.
Nbadan owns you neo con
yeah, i agree, hendrie is just a comedy skit and could be on any talk radio station... he is ing hilarious. my favorite one was a convict saying the town should have a yellow ribbon parade because he got out of prison. he kept saying that he was just like the soldiers who coming back from a long deployment. also, he was saying his mother should get out of her house so him and another prison buddy could use it as a halfway house. man, he had some furious callers..
i think many callers are just flipping stations and don't realize the show is full of .. then they call in and go ballistic.
