Where?
Just FYI, I understand that Clear Channel will be carrying a new liberal talk radio station starting this week.
I like Chris Duel's show because I don't consider it a conservative or a liberal radio show.
It'll be interesting though.
At this time, I cannot confirm nor deny this report.
Nate Lundy is the Devil
It's on 'OAI's Web site right now.
KRPT 92.5 FM
Sounds good to me.
I like Ed Schultz and will find this a refreshing change.
But I do listen to to conservative shows so that I know what they are talking about. I listen to the Savage Nation, Laura Ingram, Rush, the William Bennett show, Sean Hannity, the Factor, Jeff Bolton and others.
Need to know where they are coming from.

The city's first ever commercial FM talk radio station will also be the first to be programmed with a liberal slant, officials of Clear Channel Communications announced today.
KRPT will sign on the air Thursday morning at 8AM on 92.5FM. The station is currently called KHTY and formats urban and hip hop music.
"This is going to be exciting," Clear Channel Vice President and Market Manager Tom Glade said.
While 1200 WOAI Newsradio, a full service news, talk and sports station with a heavy commitment to local news and the San Antonio Spurs is by far the highest rated spoken word radio station in San Antonio, KRPT Operations Manager Nate Lundy pointed out that number two in the market is National Public Radio KSTX-FM. A gaggle of other talk and news talk stations get much lower ratings.
"You have to remember that 44 percent of Bexar County voted for John Kerry last November," Lundy said. "These are people who are crying out for talk radio."
The first show aired on KRPT will be hosted by Jerry Springer, the former Cincinnati mayor who is best known for his wild TV show featuring the antics of transves es, hookers, and lost loves.
"The radio show is not what people would stereotype from Springer's TV show," Lundy said. "He has a political background and I think that he has the ability to discuss serious politics while being entertaining at the same time."
Veteran local liberal talker Ron Aaron has been signed to host a three hour show on Saturdays and Sundays, with a time to be determined, Lundy said.
Other personalities to appeal on KRPT will include Phil Hendrie and Lionel, both of whom have enjoyed success on WOAI, and Ed Schultz, a talk host Lundy describes as 'energetic and opinionated.'
Prominent liberal activist Jesse Jackson's Sunday show will also air on KRPT.
While liberal talk is new to San Antonio, it is also relatively new to Clear Channel. The San Antonio based company boasts a stable of conservative talkers including Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura Schlesinger, and Glenn Beck. KRPT will be the 24th progressive talk station introduced by Clear Channel, which is the nation's largest operator of radio stations, and it will be the fourth to host Springer's new radio program.
Lundy pointed out that progressive talk has found a solid niche. The progressive talk radio station in Portland Oregon ranked first among the key 25-54 year old age group in the most recent ratings.
Lundy says placing the station on FM will also add to its attractiveness.
"I think it'll be fun," he said. "I think the audience is definitely there for this kind of radio station in San Antonio."
I can now confirm.
It's been a crazy day
LJ will be sad. One of the two hiphop stations will be gone.
Damn it my favorite radio station was just murdered by Nate Lundy and utsagolfpb.KRPT will sign on the air Thursday morning at 8AM on 92.5FM. The station is currently called KHTY and formats urban and hip hop music.
You Both.
I know, it's killing me too.
You know I rather listen to Mike Jones & Slim Thug than freaking Jerry Springer.
I think it is good.
Hardcore Rap or Liberal Talk Show Radio...
I think it's a wash, they have the same cultural significance.

I think you need to kill him on wax (or html, whichever you prefer) again.
But ClearChannel is a Republican Machine that would never give voice to Liberal ideology. They don't consider ratings and revenue, they're propaganda peddlers.
This can't be true.
I'd like to listen to liberal talk radio about as much as I would like to listen to conservative talk radio.
It's a polarized medium with little of stubstance to offer to anything. It really is political Jerry Springer most of the time.
Am I the only one who turns on NPR when I'm in the mood for something other than music out of my radio? They talk politics on a fairly even keel and divert themselves onto less focused items of discussion rather than simply engaging in attacking via talking points.
Dallas Ticket 1310 in the morning and afternoon is the only talk on the radio I can stomach. A guy I used to work with listened to NPR all day, and while it's certainly less abrasive than the usual partisan talk, I still got sick of it.
By no means can I listen to it all day, on any day much less everday.

I'll see what they got to offer.
You never know. They might just move the "Hot 9.25" format to another dial. Then again, they might not being that "The Beat 98.5" just kills all the other stations in San Antonio in ratings. Another question, are you gonna be able to hear the damn station? Where I live on the NE side, it comes in quite staticky. Gee, maybe if they wouldn't have put the tower in Divine tx, the hip hop format would of gotten more listeners in the first place. So, I'm wondering if they're gonna change it to where all of san antonio can hear 92.5 clearly.
I like Ed Schultz and will find this a refreshing change.
Ed is/was a local talk show guy for years at local stations around here. I have no respect for him at all. I've avoided shows like him and rush because it literally gives me a headache. He used to be very conseravative and more open to discussion. I've only caught his national show a few times. It was pretty tame. I think they screen like they do on rush? His local one, maybe from being in a more conservative location, gets heated. He's the type of guy that when he gets overwhelmed on a discussion, he does the equivalent of someone on the net ing about spelling, grammer and the amount of money they make. The biggest problem i have with him is that he's doing it for the money. From day one he got hooked in with FoxNews being the liberal counterpoint and his national show it appears he's putting on an act. It doesn't bother me that his views changed but i don't think its for the right reasons. From catching his local show on and off the past year, i thought the Gov. of ND was doing an absolutely horrible job clouded in scandal and had no chance of being relected, only to find it wasn't even a contest. The sad part to me is that his style of radio drastically changed when he switched his views and it doens't really reflect him. He's a of a nice guy in person.
that's godamn right, throw in paul wall and chamillionaire and thats all ya need. 98.5 is . SA needs more like godamn 97.9 tha box in houston. . if i could start a godamn radio station, it would be the tightest around, undaground 24/7. godamn screw and all other texas undaground .![]()
