You were fairly lucky the HP had a power supply that was easily replaced. Many companies have a policy of vertical integration which means they often design their computers to only use power supplies available from them. Dell and Compaq seem to be the worst in this regard.

Compussr sells a power transformer called iGo or something like that which handles Dell's propriety bull Ac adapter for laptops, fyi.

Uh, told you what? I asked repeatedly if I could do it. What am I supposed to do, wrestle the mower from her hands? Her daughter wanted to try and run it for a while too. All I could do was run the trimmer around the back yard, flip the broken hot tub over, and help lay out some tarps. Ask her if I didn't want to do it.

Oh, that pool! It's still laying in a heap at the bottom of the yard...User was nice enough to move it over a little.
AND I ACTUALLY LIKE CUTTING THE GRASS! In my yard it's awesome exercise.
