I could care less about Barkley's "mindset." Dirk has a work ethic that rivals Kobe. Barkley spent his career eating and drinking and not even coming close to maximizing his talent. I'll take Dirk's career/work ethic/mindset over Barkley's.

This is what the Spurs do every year...they play ty against the good teams in the first half of the season, and better in the second half, after the rodeo road trip. They're showing signs of that team right now, and will play better in the second half, and all the people who've been talking about how the Spurs are too old....just like they did in 03, 05, and 07...will see once more that the Spurs are right in the thick of it.
