Ouch. ing Manu. What was he thinking? He will be out for revenge mark my words. Manu will get to the rim at will in this series.
*sigh*
Parker could have just as well gone to the local Y for a bit of shooting practice and wind sprints if all he needed was shooting reps and game conditioning... Hill could joined him...less chance of random injury as well.. if... like you say, all he needed was reps and endurance.
Lemme say, chemistry is a fragile thing, not something you wanna mess around with late in the year. It's built by playing guys in roles and lineups that they become accustomed to. I'd argue that this game was important for the spurs to fine tune some chemistry esp w/ Parker in a new role and both him and Hill just recently coming back from injuries. You obviously don't think chemistry is an issue. Guess we'll find out Sunday.

I enjoyed seeing you try to slip by my strongest point. Almost, but not quite. Your theory on Pop's motive for losing tonight, that he knew the team would lose anyway, is nonsense, because as I said above, that would mean he guaranteed we would face the same sure defeat; anyone would do anything to attempt a low percentage win, going all out in that case, to prolong their lives by playing an opponent we have a chance against.
Now, you did say pop was illogical, so that could still explain it. And although you disagree with his decision, to imply there were no good, logical reasons why he held out our best 2 players tonight is also plainly wrong.
Chemistry is your mantra. Well, chemistry can be built up at practice too; why not? Well, chemistry is built over time and when the pressure is on. Actually, getting into game shape and getting your shot back can't really be "gotten" in practice, because you can't get as motivated in practice, you never go 100% like in a real game with adrenaline and so on.
Anyway, one game was not going to do it.
And how do you develop chemistry? By going for the win. How do you go for the win? You use the defense and offense you think is your best shot.
But wait, doesn't that tip our hand before the real match has even begun? You also never addressed that argument. Probably because there is no good answer to that one either.
Remember game 1 of ECSF in 1994, Indiana @ NY ?
Reggie Miller miraculously tied the game, then for some reason, Sam Mitc fouls John Starks and sends him to the FT line.
I don't what Sammy was thinking, he must have been caught in the heat of the moment, but the Knicks were like: " WTF ???? why did they do that? "
You looked a John Staks's face and his body language, you knew he didn't want to be on the FT line; why? because the Knicks interpreted the situation as : " did they just foul us on purpose, even though it's a tied game, because they know we are going to miss? "
Starks misses both FT's, Miller grabs the rebound, Mason goes Sam Mitc on Reggie, and Pacers win.
So, this is what the mavs must be thinking: " they tank the game, knowing that they will face us in the 1st round and that we own them in the playoffs? "
See, Mavs must be ting in their pants now, they know we know we can beat them.
Now, back to your regular program
