Critique my Photography.. Again.

Were you going for designer drowning? I love everything but the feel. I think her expression could be softer and less cold/stagnant. The idea is brilliant, and the pose is wonderful, but I can't help but think it's a crime scene drowning.

Maybe just me?

Great creativity, though. Love the colors, and, even if it seems to conflict with my drowning statements, the stillness of the shot.

i see what you mean on her expression, though. there are actually some softer faces, but this was my favorite that made the cut - just everything about it, the pose and dress: it was just my favorite.

i didn't really like the leg, but we had about 5 minutes to do this shoot, so i can't be picky with what i got..

The photo can't be truly appreciated on your monitor. there is nothing better than having a glossy 8x10 in your hands. So keep that in mind when you critique.

+1. my favorite thing to do after a shoot like this is print a 20x30 to give to the model... just because it's an excuse to see my work physically, which is completely different.

also the photographer shows creativity, why this guy doesn't have a major marketing company paying him to do magazine ads is mind boggling. either he has the worst agent in San Antonio or his ignorant ass doesn't have an agent.

either way the worth mistake is not having enough talent but having it and letting it go to waste, my 2 cents.

thanks.. it's the second: my "ignorant ass" doesn't have an agent, unfortunately. i don't know where to start, to be honest. everything i know, i've only learned by reading Google.

many people don't take a 20 year old seriously, though, and that's half the battle right there. i set up meetings, and once they see that i'm 20 (mind you, i dress professionally, and conduct myself in as professional a manner as possible during the meetings), things just go south, unfortunately.


i'm hoping that'll change soon, though..

Her cold facial expression creates a mood like she's drowned (to me, at least) while the rest of the look is very fashionable, hence designer drowning.

It could be the look people want. Everything else, leg included, is fantastic.

For me...............the first one was a waste of film. all that darkness and a head in front of a light just seemed boring. Nothing to the imagination and your better than that.

I have to disagree with Re-Animator here. I feel the first one is the most poignant of them all.
The rest are very nice, but feel like regular photos taken to glamour shots.




The right side of this photo has substance as well.
