I hope you're a fan of what Jason Terry brought early this season because you're about to get a full dose of that amount of action. The good thing is - every 5th game, he'll kick some ass.
It seems like squirtles contract is never ing ending.

It rested on the shoulders of a capable #2 scorer, which Butler could have been. As it is, there's nobody now. The Mavs can't seriously expect Roddy to step in and be a 17-20 PPG guy right away?
Getting off topic, but how are the Mavs going to trade Haywood?
Other than the season his contract expires that is.
My only hope was that Michael Jordan has spent too much time gambling to look at box scores, then when Dallas throws a trade offer out, he takes a quick glance at Haywood's Wikipedia page, sees "University Of North Carolina" on there, and accepts the trade.
I think the "other guys" include
Terry (hot and cold)
Marion (liked him at the 4, would rather he kept up that role)
Stevenson (mono's favorite)
Ajinca backing up Dirk (to aid in the move of marion at the 3)
Dojo (in limited minutes. we know carlisle hates rookies)
And, if the little stops breaking his foot again
Beaubois
well the situations are similar. Butler + Manu of 08 had similar impact on their teams.
this is exactly what I though of chances or beating mavs in round 1. Brutal awakening awaits you.And I'm not 100% sold that the Mavs chances of progressing through the playoffs rested on the shoulders of Caron Butler.
We're back in 2006 mode, then.
They won't stand pat, though. Don't worry.
Maybe if the playoffs started tomorrow. Last I checked, we're not even halfway through the season and there's still the trade deadline. A lot can happen, obviously.
oh god, please no. Seeing that guy jack up errant 3point shots and driving with reckless abandon makes me want to vomit. He's like a 7 foot tall Barea.
Just spit-balling, but I can see the Blazers maybe being good trade partners for y'all. Camby's getting older, so they might consider taking on Haywood if they could get Beaubois, picks, and spare parts for the oft-injured Batum and Pryz and pieces. I'm thinking most teams aren't in serious cap trouble given they've had 2 years to adjust to the global financial meltdown, so Butler will probably just turn into an injury that gets written off the books as an exception.
Memphis or Golden State might also be interested in trading redundant back-court players in exchange for picks and parts.
He's not completely untradeable. He can be moved to a team that's in desperate need for a center. Yes, that contract looks rough but that's because he's a that shut down once he got his money and is no longer 'the man' at the position. Ship him off to a new team, plug him in as the starter, show that he's going to be a vital part of your team and he'll step up once again. He's not completely devoid of talent. Teams always find themselves overpaying for center talent. It's the market.
what about Fernandez?
he does not fit in Portland and a new beginning might be what his career needs.
Fernandez for Haywood straight up?
Are you sure you're not thinking of Cardinal?
Portland is not taking that contract...

Sucks. In my four ringed fantasy world, I was hoping for Mavs to get the two seed and the Lakers to get the third seed and for the Mavs to give the Lakers all they could handle. This injury makes that fantasy less likely, although not impossible.
I was never too impressed with Caron's fit with the Mavs. He could score but was it ever within the offense? Then again, I don't mean to kick him while he down. Karma might break my leg. Money outweighing problems on the Mavs team. They sticking to the script, you hatin' fans skipping scenes.
Be good or be good at it.
Bottom line we know Cuban is going to try and replace Butler, we just have to wait and see who that is going to be.
Anyone who thinks this season is over is in serious panic mode. No drop in the standings as long as Dirk gets back healthy.
Now we wait for what Cuban pulls off
Can someone translate this?
I agree. The Mavs dont really have any holes if Roddy comes back strong they just need someone to rely on and be consistent when the double and triple teams come at dirk in the playoffs ...
Look on the bright side mavfan, you really weren't going to win anything anyways. No loss.
