but like ive said in another thread, if Roddy gets back soon, this could be a good chance for him to show whether or not he truly is capable of doing what we hope he can do. with butler gone, that means more shots will be available for him.

it will be interesting to see how the team steps up in his absence.

That sucks. Hate to see a player go down to injury, regardless of the team he's on. Get well soon, Caron!

Well that ing sucks. Mavs have to make a trade and make one very very soon. They cant stand pat. Roddy would be a boost but when is the er coming back? I thought he was already supposed to be back already.

At least our hearts are broken now, instead of game 6/7 of round 1.

If they trade, what do they give up? Roddy and Tyson? Haywood has little value and I doubt the teams that could use a big like OKC have a SF that is worth much back in return. Marion can start and they play zone most of the time anyway ...you could give Deshawn or the rookie James back up mins at the 3 when roddy comes back ...

unless you can get stephen jackson on the cheap, just don't bother making a deal. play the season out and be first round fodder, then try and reload for next season. IIRC Terry will be a good sized expiring so that could be something teams want to trade for.

I saw it mentioned in another thread by someone, but perhaps Vince Carter might be the guy. Suns might be willing to trade him for Butler's contract and DeShawn Stevenson and a pick. He might not be the ideal pick-up, but the Mavs might be able to get him without giving up Chandler and/or Roddy.

better than nothing ... but Deshawn is actually playing prety well and without him Tyson is the only "toughness" they would be left with ...

IDK i can see the Mavs wanting deshawn to bang with Kobe and Manu in the playoffs ...

For the love of God, we will pay you to take Martin...But again, the Mavs don't need someone else who disappears late in games

SJax or (reluctantly) Iggy or just tank the season and try to pull a draft lottery miracle out of our ass like the Spurs.

Hes a jumpshooting pussy in the form of Jason Terry. When things get rough, he packs it in. Hes the exact opposite of what we need.
Get me Stephen Jackson, Iggy or Martin if you can get them for a fair price. If not, just play it out.

    Tayshaun Prince.

Problem is I don't see what the Pistons would want in return. Prince and Butler are both expiring contracts, but Detroit would obviously want to get something out of it. Unless we also include Max or Bynum for Roddy ... but then trying to match salaries gets difficult.

    Yeah, you don't want Martin.
