Spurs should be knocking down the door of Sheed. He's the best shot you got at getting Bonner off the court - he's old, he plays D and he shoots the 3.

Get Latrell Sprewell, who once turned down a three-year, $21 million contract extension saying, "I've got my family to feed," and has fallen on tough times. I think I saw him outside the At&T Center holding a "Will shoot some baskets and choke the coach for 8 milly a year."

Rashweed has no game left. He hasn't had any in two years. He would be one of the worst things to happen to this team because Pop would play him, and he'd screw up the rotation (32-6 rotation). He's a head to boot, although as I recall he and Tim are friendly.

D Leaguer is the best bet.

Still no one as 13 Th (and 14 th and 15th) man...
I wander how much we are under the tax level...and if we could sign someone other than the necessary signing (by NBA rule) of the 13th man.

Imho always better to have the highest number of players available (if we can, I think that well before playoffs time we should better be 15 than 13)...it's good for not playing guys that are gonna play in the play offs in garbage time, it's good 'cause anyway ther's still ans always some little talent out there and it's good 'cause anything can happen and some guy could incredibly surprise (see the "Neal case").

The only important thing is to sign players that behave, are supportive and not ask for minutes that the coach don't even think to give them...on this regard I think that (still) having the best record should help.

Don’t bet on Elliott as an option as the team’s 13th player
Posted on January 14, 2011 at 12:10 pm by Tim Griffin

For the first time all season, Spurs color analyst and former standout player Sean Elliott shot with the team during their Friday practice as they prepared for their game against Dallas tonight.

Despite starting rustily from the foul line, the 42-year-old Elliott showed his familiar touch from deep in the corners.

The Spurs are actively looking for a 13th player to join the roster.

But some of Elliott’s former teammates jokingly said they didn’t think he could help the team.

“There’s too much wine in his system,” guard Tony Parker said. “I don’t think he could last 20 games.”

If Elliott was to return he would make history as the first Spur player to see action with the team in four different decades.

But don’t expect it to happen. Elliott is much more comfortable in his new role with the organization than starting his playing career over again after a gap of nearly 10 years.
