TP + Dice is $17.72. 125% of that is $22.15M, so it's just barely enough to get Gasol. This would cost the Spurs $8.8M ($4.4M difference plus luxury tax). Amnestying RJ and signing Josh Howard could mitigate that.
Some of you are forgetting that Gasol has a 15% trade kicker. His $19 million contract would actually become $21.85 million this year. Unless the Spurs plan on paying several million in luxury taxes, it's gonna take more than Parker and McDyess to the Lakers to keep the Spurs under the tax threshold in this deal.

I'm serious. Now I read last night that Gasol wants to stay in LA if possible, but I didn't know that when I started this thread.
Also, obviously, it can just be that teams don't want to talk to each other about putting a trade like this together. I'm just getting thoughts from people here.
Gotcha. I did give you a serious answer. Gasol for Tony is a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.
Just thought you may have been poking at the "omg we can totally get Nene for the MLE crowd". Or their fellow travelers who would have traded Manu for Camby or Caron Butler long ago.
Gasol is a post player. With all their shooters, the Spurs are suddenly very dangerous with Gasol.
Rascal..pretty sure he killed himself after the Spurs won the le..
Nice bump. Love Manu, but in 2011 trading him and Bonner for Gasol would have netted another le or two for the good
guys. Hind sights 20/20.
