    bump.

Don't forget to watch the video of Ms. Knox on 60 minutes taking the wind out of all the republican't pundits sails.

Did anyone else hear collective blood-curdling screams about 8:20ish last night?

    Pssst, Dan?

The do ents are still forged, regardless of what the little granny from the typing pool with the miraculous memory-recovery said.

And CBS still rushed them to the air without due diligence to influence the outcome of a presidential election.

You do realize that that's the issue, right?

No one is disagreeing that Bush probably received special treatment because of his daddy.

Nobody cares about the do ents anymore except those out to discredit CBS, and Dan Rather. I don't care if they have Rather himself in his p.j. at the Abiline Kinkos, there is no way to prove (a) that he conspired to defraud or (b) that he was in any way negligent in researching the authenticity of the memos. Case closed.

"Nobody cares about the do ents anymore..."
    You're delusional.
"...except those out to discredit CBS, and Dan Rather."
Then the majority of America must be out to discredit CBS and Dan Rather.
"I don't care if they have Rather himself in his p.j. at the Abiline Kinkos, there is no way to prove (a) that he conspired to defraud or (b) that he was in any way negligent in researching the authenticity of the memos."
Depends on what Burkett says, doesn't it?
    "Case closed."
    It's just begun, game on!

Go ahead and play your games, but like the Swift boat fiasco, the more waves you make the more legitimacy you'll give the content of the memos, but by all means, play on!

The more you talk about the content of those memos the more you talk about something which occurred 30 years ago and that.....nobody cares about save for diehard Democrats.

You can bet Rove wants you to bring this up as much as possible.

I, however, don't really care. And I can tell that most people feel the same way.

Looks like the White house cares...

"CBS has now acknowledged that the crux of their story may have been based on forged do ents," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters as Bush made a campaign stop in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The White House had earlier refused to comment on the authenticity of the do ents...

CBS on Wednesday aired Rather's interview with Marian Carr Knox, Killian's secretary, who said she did not type the do ents but noted that the information they contained accurately reflected her boss's feelings about Bush at the time.

"Now, some are looking at feelings and not the facts," McClellan said, adding: "We don't have to rely on the feelings of a nice woman who has firmly stated her opposition to the president." >>

    WHAT'S THAT SCOTTIE?

    1. CBS admitted the story maybe BASED ON forged do ents?

    2. Some are looking at feelings and not the facts?

    3. We don't have to rely on the feelings of a woman who has firmly stated her opposition to the president.

I suppose a loyalty oath is also required before one's memory has any validity.

Did the Clinton campaign/administration make statements on his personal issues? Of course.

Look, the general perception exists in the public that Bush got into the Guard because of connections and that he probably skipped some at the end of his service.

So the public already knows the story which Democrats like to bring up every time Bush is a candidate, the public thinks it probably is true, and.....the public doesn't care.

Oh no. We must not pay any heed to the fact that Ben Barnes is a major Kerry fundraiser, has changed his story this year about what he remembered doing 30 years ago, and that the two men who could confirm his changed story are dead.

But the fact that one of the 250 Swift Vets was a Bush/Cheney volunteer, well that invalidates their claims entirely.

At this point I am wondering if the Demos aren't playing the fortunate son bit up just to ensure turnout for their down ballot candidates doesn't suffer because of Kerry's lackluster campaign...
