But, as always, matter of personal preference.

There are both styles available in both cities.

L.A. does have very stylish/hip lofts and/or pristine ocean views, mountain chateaus and everything in between.

But I get where NY style seems to suit you better.

LA, not as condensed and just as much to see from the beaches to the mountains to the shopping. Weather too.

Although NYC was pretty awesome the one time I visited, not sure how I'd feel about living there though.
