Which one would you prefer to live in (if you don't already live there)? Why?
NY

GO METS!
L.A. Best and worst of everything plus best weather.
LA easily. Better weather, can hike in the mountains, swim/surf in the Pacific, two places nearby to go skiing, better access to be@ner food, hotter es, and still cheaper to live in than NYC. The only advantage NY has is far superior public transportation (I can't take anyone seriously who complains about traffic if they haven't spent a lot of time in LA).
I've lived in both of these cities and contrary to what you would first assume, LA has much more culture than NYC. Much more to see and do. Plus the weather.
NYC
Never been to LA so cant say if I'd like it there or not. But considering how dry the wheather is over there, I'll pass.
X2
ONLY drawback to LA is the awful traffic.
You like sweating like on humid summer days? Not following.
New York City is the easy answer for me, but that may be because I grew up in the LA area and already got my fill. There are a lot of things I love about it, but I never need to live there again.
New York, on the other hand, is one of my three favorite US cities (New Orleans and San Francisco are the other two) and is the only of the three I haven't lived in. I'd kill for the opportunity to finally do so at some point.
Neither. Not a big city person.
Even Austin is growing so much we may decide to retire elsewhere (assuming that's ever a possibility the way things are going these days).
Well since the original question didn't have any qualifiers like "if you were single" or "if you were rich", I'd have to go with NYC. I've been in both areas for extended periods and I think for the kind of life I lead (stay at home mom w/ 3 kids), my life in LA just wouldn't be too much different from my life in San Antonio. NYC would definitely change up family life.
LA undoubtedly
Oh yeah, better beer in California too.
Actually yes.
I prefer summer to winter or any cold wheather for that matter.
What does summer time have to do with the rest of the seasons though?
LA
I love the west coast.
Ah yes, this is another issue for me.
I've always lived on the East coast. At this point in my life, I dont care nor do I want to readjust my internal clock.
Not a big city person, but having to choose one, I'd choose the City of Angels.
Nyc
LA sucks unless you are wealthy, it's just another urban sprawl. NYC there is plenty to do regardless of income level
