Just as with trade rumors, you should be skeptical of the alleged prowess of players who've yet to make it in the NBA. Sure, some do live up to the hype, but far too often they don't.

But MB, don't you realize that ALL players from Argentina are just like Manu, regardless of position or skill set? It's in the water down there, I think.
I do not think Scola is another manu---there might not be any more manus around---but I think Scola will inject energy to the team off the bench, will excite the fans with his hustle and his will to win. He could be a solid contributor off the bench. Not manu, not an allstar. Just solid bench player and another fan favorite.
SAR is a more skilled player, at this time. and a trade for him would probably not be turned down. I just wonder if SAR would have the proper at ude if he winds up as a Spur bench player when he is used to being a starter.
I am pretty sure that Scola, if he were to make it to the Spurs, would accept his bench role with the proper at ude, like manu did in 2003.
Scola has been a bench player his whole life.
it seems based on Pops recent comments on Scola he has a higher opinion than some who now doubt his worth

I may be off base here, but I've always thought of Scola as a Corliss Williamson-type with some possible added intangibles. Corliss gives good teams 11 pts and 4 rebounds off the bench pretty consistently, shooting around 50%. I feel we could expect similar numbers from Scola, but I'm open to others' opinions.
What would you expect from Scola in 20-25 mpg for the Spurs?

i would expect him to be a better passer than corliss... even in his first year. other than that, it depends how they use him. if there are no other 4's traded for... allstars or whatever... i'd expect this guy to have some rough games at first, but be pretty effective scoring. if he takes over alot of horry's mins in the regular season 8pts 6rebs isnt too much to expect. he's used to being a scoring option, so without that, he'll probably have alot of time/energy to get easier boards.
