I have given up all my championship hopes and would rather the Spurs get the 2nd seed than suffer another humiliating upset at the hands of an 8th seed, which would be the Lakers in this case, making the humiliation infinitely more, well, humiliating.

And any Spurs' fan who thinks this team isn't ripe for an upset is a mouthbreathing homer on Horse's level.

Let's hope they don't get the Rockets, either. I could easily see Harden playing out of his mind, Asik doing the job on Duncan and them flat out having too much firepower for the Spurs (never thought I'd be saying that at the beginning of the season). The Warriors are the best bet at this point. And even them, they're not assured of beating.

As I said about a week ago, it's too bad, not only on a micro level, but on a macro level, too. We all know the Heat were probably going to win it all anyway, but at least a healthy Spurs team had a shot and there was the possibility of an all time Finals playing out. Now, all the intrigue is gone and the entire playoffs feel like a mere formality. League wide, injuries destroyed this season.

spurs will have an easy time beating rockets in the first round imho. taking on the rockets instead of the lakers will come with a lot of benefits because you won't have to spend too much time on plane travelling through two time zones, which will save alot of energy for their old legs imho, and most of the current rockets players have little to none playoff experience

El, doesn't every team get a week off before starting the playoffs? How much rest does one need? Even for an old ass team, 5 days+ should be enough rest.

Spurs will make the WCF as the 2 seed. Lakers are the only team that would upset the Spurs, primarily due to the refs/dependency on roll players. Whether they actually get past that will depend on Tony and Manu's health.
