Can you say you've witness all? Dont answer that, you probably became a fan after the 3peat. bandwagoner banking on lakers history that goes beyond even his DOB.

Just like all the yankees bags fans who bring up 27 championships even though they have no clue when those champs were won. lol

Furthermore, upsets happen all the time in the NBA. , the Grizzlies even TANKED to play the Spurs because they knew they had favorable matchups. No one was really surprised when they beat the Spurs. Then they went on to take OKC to 7 games. Those Grizzlies were a very, very good team. The only way it would be a failure on the level you think it is if the Grizzlies were this years Bulls to the Spurs Heat. But I understand you'll keep playing up the seeding bull because you don't want to admit to yourself the Lakers failed much, much worse than any Spurs team in history.
46 wins does not equal "very very good" tbh. I call bull on the bolded. You popsuckers were stroking each off left and right over your 61-win team.

Again, if they were healthy, expectations should have been realized. They were not. They changed coaches. Changed offensive philosophies. Changed _efensive philosophies. Ton of missed games by regulars. Trainwreck.

That said, never before has the most hyped, most expensive team in NBA history failed to win one measly playoff game, much less lose every game by an average of 20 points.
Keyword: hype. 1999 Blazers were more loaded. They imploded too (but they were healthy ).

Play the injury card all you want, but the reason the Lakers were injured was a direct correlate of the Lakers failing from the FO to the players on the court.
Injuries derailed our season. And yes, Dumbtoni played a huge role - and the FO didn't step in.

The Lakers set a new precedent for failure, and you're just going to have to deal with it. Not one basketball fan/analyst on earth who isn't a Lakers fan would consider the '11 Spurs a bigger failure than the '13 Lakers.

    Own up.
You guys were not built on the fly in 2011. In fact, your big 3 were together for a decade. Other players came an went (i.e. Willis, Oberto, Bowen, Hill, etc.). But the continuity of your big 3 remained the same. They knew each other's games like the back of their hands. That happens through years of building chemistry. So much so that you guys never lost more than 32 games in a single year since y'all tanked, I mean drafted TD... all of that went out the door when y'all met up with Z-Bo and the boys.

My boys had a bunch of past their prime FA names that we threw together and expected it to work. I drunk the Koolaid too. But as the injuries started mounting and the Ls started building up, I realized that this storm would not end well. Then BOOM! Kobe blows an Achilles.

But hey, happens. I'm confident that they will rebuild again and be hyped again. We'll be on top sooner than you think. When Shaq/Kobe split up, it was supposed to set us back a decade. 4 years later, we won b2b rangs. History has a tendency of repeating itself. Especially in LA LA land.

Same franchise, different city. Same ownership and players when move was made. But no need to explain to you. Simply 16-0 is all that needs to be said.

No, they didn't.... even with the injuries, you still had at least one Hall of Famer on the court for nearly every game, which is more than some teams had all season long, tbh.... not to mention, it's your front office's own fault for wasting money on big names instead of actually putting together a bench, as well as Kirby's fault for demanding to pad stats in garbage time in his late 30's...

So the '95 Rockets weren't a very, very good team?

The reason for their record that year was because they played like half the year and found their groove during the second half of the season, finishing with the 3rd best record in the West over that time. They also tanked the last two games of the season. They were a 50+ win level team who happened to get the 8th seed. Simple as that. It's happened before and it'll probably happen again. It was an upset, but not on the level of something like the Warriors/Mavericks (that wasn't even much of an upset considering how well the Warriors matched up). Keep trying to convince yourself it was this once-in-a-lifetime event, though.

What is a once-in-a-lifetime event, however, is a 9 figure NBA roster not winning a single playoff game.

Maybe you're not the biggest failure in sports history, but you are, without a doubt, the biggest failure in NBA history. Bar in' none.

And at the 1999 Blazers being more hyped and loaded.

if not for that lopsided trade for Gasol, Lakers would have fell off into obscurity for quite some time. , how many of you guys joined after you acquired MVPau for peanuts? pretty much all of you guys.

your best bet is to get another lopsided trade, and knowing the league's love affair for the Lakers, i imagine that will happen. but it has nothing to do with great ownership or management ( if anything, that aspect is going to get much worse for you guys). it's more about the league protecting it's flagship franchise.

The Rangers at least got to the World Series, though.....

The Lakers spent $120mil in a sport where that kind of money isn't commonly thrown around, they guaranteed 73 wins and a ring, and then needed Stern to force them into the 7th seed where they were swept and demolished.... there has never been a bigger failure than thatPERIOD
