If the Spurs are using their MLE this year, will they still have the ability to use it again next year? I thought it was an every other year kind of thing.

It's the LLE that is every other season. I have a sneaking su ion that the next Argentine to join the Spurs might be Hermann. There seems to be some rumblings that the Spurs are looking at Kukoc or younger guys on the bubble in this league to fill the backup 3 next season. Kukoc is only going to play one more season. Perhaps the Spurs want to cover that spot with a stopgap solution next season and then next summer use part of their MLE to bring Hermann over. This might also explain the reticence the Spurs have displayed towards Glenn Robinson in free agency. While Oberto's name had come up over the last year as someone the Spurs might look at, it's not like his signing was expected this summer.

Hermann is an energizer bunny. I don't want to say he has Rodman type energy, but his activity is very noticeable.

The guy is tough. I like the way he plays in the paint.
