Lebron is still the better player, but Durant is the best player offensively by a mile.
better offensive player by a mile? lol no

    better shooter, sure.

but ball handling, passing, vision, finishing, absorbing contact, penetration, foot work, post moves, transition offense... all go to Lebron without question.

The haters are getting all giddy over Durant now. They are hoping he can be the one to stop Lebron in June. Indiana and OKC will be the 2 hopes for the haters this season, tbh.
nobody is saying Durant will beat Lebron in the Finals. Obviously basketball is all about matchups and like poster above said, Miami is matchup nightmare for OKC. And I agree they would not last 6 games vs. the Heat. It would take KD to play at Jordan levels and Westbrook to play at top PG level in order to have a chance in vs Miami. Miami has fast strong defenders that would not allow scrubs like Reggie Jackson, Lamb and African Policeman Ikaka shine.

Only slow weak teams like the Spurs make those scrubs look like allstars

I also agree Pacers and Spurs matchup better with Heat. But at this point only the Pacers IMO. Spurs look like the game 6 collapse finally caught up to them. (As I predicted) Will they ever recover? chances are NO. but one can only hope MVParker can at least carry the team throughout.

oh and while we on the subject of 1 on 1. KD would take a on Lebron on a 1-1 game.

Sure, ppl will say, Lebron will power through the Ethiopian every single drive. But people forget the Ethiopian has a 7 foot 2 wingspan. pretty much got the same wingspan as Hakeem

in the end basketball is not a game about power, the best shooter will usually win on a 1-1.

    advantage KD

All Durant is is scorer. He is the best scorer in the game but not much else, hence why LeBron is light years away from him. Why else did he get cuckold by the Grizzlies last year?

lol what are you talking about? Basketball is more than just scoring. Also, Jump shooting teams do not win rings. Teams with a post presence with POWER win rings. And because he's leading the league in scoring does not mean he would beat LeBron one on one.

"But, but, Player X scores more than Player Y, he would totally beat Player Y in one-on-one!"

It's the same "logic" that fans of Kirby and other chuckers use to defend their player, one that conveniently ignores all the other aspects of winning basketball (efficiency, shot selection, ball movement, rebounding, team defense, etc.)...

disagree. When discussing best player in the planet topics, 1 on 1 scenarios are useful. Agree, not overly important but I just brought it up because Phil Jackson brought it up today when discussing Kobe and Jordan

How is a hypothetical one-on-one matchup at all relevant to who's better in a five-on-five league?

that's true though... Kirbystan goes directly to 1 on 1 when his team is sucking up a storm to try to salvage Kirby... but it's exactly why they don't have a leg to stand on

He averages 5.1 assts, 7.7 rbds and 1.5 stls per game. He's a pretty damn good defender too.

look I'm not going to argue about the efficiency of 1 on 1 discussions

neither am I disagreeing Heat would wip OKC ass thus resulting in Lebron beating Durant

I'd even go ahead and pick Lebron over Durant in an NBA draft today. But I'd make sure my #2 pick is the best, most clutch shooter in history for insurance purposes

still the best basketball in the world is being played by the Ethiopian as of today. Plain and simple

Lebron is clearly a better player than Dominos, that isn't really arguable, tbh..

However, Dominos has been the best player THIS season, and he's simply a better player than Kobe, McGrady, Carter and any other wings since the 90s, outside of Lebron and Dad Killer, tbh..

higher WS/48 when its a mere .001 higher.

Lebron had a considerably higher eFG%, higher rebound %, assist %, and higher PER.

Durant is taking probably 4-5 more shots per game than Lebron did, when you add in FGAs and FTAs, so of course his scoring will be a bit higher, but Lebron is a considerably better floor leader and defender.

Are you seriously comparing this stretch that Durant is having, to Lebron's stretch last year where he shot under 52% in only 3 out of 26 games, and led his team on that 27 game win streak, despite Wade playing hurt and even missing some of the games?

Yea Westbrook has been out, but Reggie Jackson is no joke himself. He looks fully capable of being a 15-20 PPG scorer, and has basically done just that since Westbrook went out. He's not Westbrook, but he's better than people think, and has a lot of talent. Don't make it seem like Durant is doing this with no help, just because Westbrook is out.
groupies(not fans) of players always do this. the jordan groupies claim he won 6 les by himself. now durant is out there all alone having to carry the thunder and noone is helping him on defense or offense.

Durant is the best player of this planet at present day, yes, because that with reduced hairline and crab steps is actually an alien from some other planet.
