yeah, TNT basically traded Steve Kerr for Mark Jackson![]()
More like in basketball tbh.

Am I the only guy who thinks this will be a massive boost to the Dubs? I think they'll be legit contenders next season if everyone stays healthy (big if for half the players on that team tho).
Mark Jackson was their biggest obstacle to winning, and now he's gone to preach elsewhere.
Unproven Steve Kerr is getting paid 25 mil(more than he made as a player) to coach in Cali(GOAT state) where his family is. Incredible. Man, I can't even hate on him.
Keep hustlin cuh
This right here, I said!
I like Kerr, but handing a guy who has never spent a second on an NBA coaching bench a 5 year contract is borderline re ed. I know that's not politically correct to say, but that's how stupid it is.
Exactly.
And analytics say that coaching doesn't really matter and you could pretty much do away with the midrange game. Look how both those principles ended up working for us. There is no way you could use numbers to portray the entire context, how defenses switch, how players play with more intensity, how coaches instill discipline into their players...I just can't stand those ing sta s.
Besides having never expressed an interest in coaching, Horry is too lazy now to be a coach!
The league is currently obsessed with hiring ex players as coaches.

Kerr, Shaw, and now Fischer?Doc Rivers is wildly overrated, Mark Jackson is a cancer, Jason Kidd is just lmao, Shaw was exposed. Meanwhile, you got proven coaches out there who aren't even being considered.
You didn't even mention Luke Walton and Tyrone Lue![]()
Rockets have arguably the worst coach in the NBA and their star player is arguably the biggest choker in the league today, tbh..
The NBA is diverting from the isolation brand of basketball..there were 6 teams that were far ahead of the pack in isolation-oriented offense in 2013-14: New Orleans, Golden State, New York, OKC, Houston and Brooklyn..
Two of those coaches have already been fired and Scott Brooks will be fired if OKC doesn't make the Finals..Monty Williams is one of the tiest coaches in the league, but ownership won't let him go until his contract is up..
Kidd's job is safe, since he's a rookie coach..
McHale is the only other "safe" coach, I assume it's because their front office is afraid of player reaction to his potential dismissal..
And ya, most former players are terrible coaches, if they continue to stick with old principles, which is what most of them do, unfortunately..
BUMP
gots (including me)
Lol you got it right Robz4000
Kerr made me eat crow
But then again how hard can it be to draw up plays for Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the two best shooters in the league? The Warriors have a number of weapons on their team and Kerr has offensive guru Alvin Gentry at his side as well. Props to Kerr for doing a great job this season, but let's not act like he was put in some brutal situation.
this thread..
He took a team with a second round ceiling on the cusp of a championship.
He wasn't exactly in a situation, but they weren't going to do a lot of either without him.
Any rookie coach needs experienced and solid assitants
Kerr as a former player that used his basketball knowledge from his playing days in his Phoenix GM job: questioned by most, poor moves, ultimately a failure
Kerr as an analyst of the game that learned analytics and the progression of basketball: elite coach on the verge of winning le in his 1st year
Genetic lottery gives you a lot of great things in basketball, but intelligence isn't one of them..
Trading for Shaq and his 20 mil a year contract made sure that the Lakers won the West by a large margin in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
King was onto something when he said Kerr was like a baseball manager that uses analytics.
