Warriors Management are a bunch of ing re s. What was the point of firing Mark Jackson to then go hire another Rookie Head Coach? Kerr is basically in the same position Jackson was in 3 years ago.

I think the Knicks soured on his salary demands and they were actually smart to do so. Kerr is unproven and now Jackson might actually pick a proven coach.
Have to give it to Phil though. He's penny pinching everyone these days. He already implied or assumed Melo will take a pay cut so we'll see how that one goes.
Kerr isn't a huge loss, so is Melo.
McHale achieved considerable success in Houston (albeit not making the 2nd round, they're playing an attractive style of game at least) so they can hope for the same in Golden State tbh.

Mark Jackson sucked badly. That was independent of this decision. He sucks, he had to go. People who are preachers that cheat on their wife with a hooker are obviously poor decision makers and beyond annoying.
Having said that, that is a ridiculous contract for a first time coach no matter how much potential. Lot's of pressure with that contract now.
I just find it hilarious the silent racism creeping out that no one talks about. Magic Johnson openly celebrating Coach Dantoni's firing - I have never seen anything like that. Now Jalen Rose salty as over Kerr getting Warriors gig and taking strange shots at Kerr. Magic loves a white coach getting fired and Rose mad a white coach gets hired. Interesting.

Phil should hire Pippen since Scottie has been his extension for the better part of his career. He'll also fit his Buddhist budget too. Just surround Scottie with ex Bulls players and/or coaching staff to complete the staff.

Everybody got excited about Kerr when Phil Jackson showed interest,,,,everyone saying Kerr learned under Phil Jackson and Pop and therefore a prodigy unlike all others,,,but I beg to differ,,,,I go for Robert Horry right now if I'm Phil Jackson. Arguably the most clutch player with the game on the line in NBA history, 7 rings, learned under Tomjanovich, Phil Jackson, and Pop,,,,played with Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe, and Duncan. His pedigree is much better than Kerr's if youre looking for an unproven coach to invest in but I wouldn't put it past PJ to go full on for Ollie to screw the Lakers and open the door for Durant to New York.
Yup. It is pretty interesting that the white guy got in trouble for talking about the black guy, yet the black guys can talk mad about 1. A white guy getting fired and 2. A white guy getting hired.
