Or because the Spurs have no money and no playing time to offer. Just a stab in the dark here.

My exact thoughts, as previously noted.

When Duncan and Ginobili Retire, your prob gonna see R.C and Pop hump everything that moves during free agency. They are just fat and happy right now.
Yeah but they will have the tens of millions of dollars they used to make to offer free agents.

Gasol probably really wanted to play in San Antonio. But there honestly wasn't enough money in it for him to play with the Spurs. You can't blame him for taking the cash. If the the Spurs could pay him just as much as the Bulls, then I'm almost positive he'd be wearing black and silver.

He's a Spaniard. He doesn't want to mingle with border Mexicans and be considered one. Royal court vs Royal Crown imo.
    Yup, he's a bigot.

I think the Spurs are not going to bend over backwards for anyone. If a free agent is wanting to play for us the Spurs let their own success and championships do the talking for them. Gasol would have to be from another planet if he doesn't know the Spurs are about winning. That being said he wants to win but he wants to be win in a big market like Chicago supposedly as a "star" and not as a role player off the bench. The Spurs are loaded already and they have more than enough talent to repeat. Chicago is not going anywhere but a first round playoff exit like always.
Like always? They lostin the first round this year, but made it to the second round last year. ECF in 2011.

Free agents follow the money, significant playing time, and the potential le contender. Free agents are also afraid of this tough bas .
